Pharmacodynamics

Anthelmintic substance with a large range of therapeutic activity. Demonstrates effective effect in ascariasis with enterobiasis, as well as trichurosis. Mostly affects the parasitic energy processes. It leads to the breakdown of the processes of glucose consumption and ATP binding, and at the same time it depletes glycogen reserves. Selectively slows down the binding of β-tubulin to muscle cells of helminths, due to which their paralysis and disruption of the activity of transport systems occur.

It has a detrimental effect on hookworm eggs and ascaris. Large portions of drugs are used for echinococcosis or trichinosis (extraintestinal worms). The drug is well tolerated.

Pharmacokinetics

Substance is practically not absorbed inside the intestine. Synthesis with blood protein is 90%.

Half-life period - within 2.5-5 hours. There is a cumulation of the drug inside the fatty tissue with the liver, as well as inside the helminth larvae. Exchange processes occur inside the liver. Approximately 5-10% of the drug is absorbed and then excreted through the kidneys. With feces more than 90% of drugs are excreted.

Dosing and administration

It is necessary to take medicine orally, after the use of food.

In the case of diagnosed enterobiasis, an adult should take 0.1 g of drug 1 time. In parallel, it is necessary to treat all living in the house. If there is a high risk of re-invasion, you need to reuse a similar portion after 14 days.

In case of teniodosis, ascariasis, trichurosis, ankilostomidosis, and in addition, anvillosis or mixed-type helminthiases are used 2 times a day for 0.1 g of the drug (over a 3-day period).

With trichinosis take 0.2-0.4 g of the drug 3 times a day, for 3 days in a row. Starting from the 4th day, it is necessary to increase the portion to 0.4-0.5 g 3 times a day. This dosage is used until the 10th day.

It is necessary to take into account that during the day after consuming Vermoxa it is forbidden to eat fatty foods, drink alcohol and use laxatives. Upon completion of therapy, it is necessary to take feces and smears for analysis during the 7-day period in order to check for the presence of helminths or their eggs. During prolonged therapy, it is necessary to monitor the work of the kidneys with the liver, and also to take a blood test.

Application for children

Vermoxes should not be given to babies under 2 years of age.

Most often, children are infected with enterobiasis, and in addition, ascariasis or giardiasis. The peaks of these diseases are often noted in 2-3-, 4-7- and 10-14-year-old children (due to enzyme deficiency, the breakdown of acid-base values within the gastrointestinal tract, as well as its motility and healthy microflora). The time after the child has suffered an intestinal infection, and after that, after treatment with antibiotics, is considered more vulnerable to invasions.

In the case of treatment of ascariasis, drug efficacy is 100%. The drug is prescribed to the child in such portions: 2-10-year-olds consume 0.05 g per day, dividing the dosage into 3 applications; older than 10 years - 100 mg per day in 3 uses. Therapy lasts 3 days.

During enterobiasis (pinworm invasion), therapy lasts for 1 day: a 2–5-year-old child needs one quarter of a tablet; 5-10 years old - 0.5 tablets; children over the age of 10 - 1-well pill. Be sure to take the medicine again in the same portion after 14 days. In addition, you should wash in a high temperature (90 o C) underwear all living in the house.

It must be remembered that the drug leads to an increase in the functional activity of helminths, which is why there is sometimes vomiting, anti-peristalsis and throwing ascaris into the respiratory tract. In this regard, with intensive forms of invasion, it should be carefully applied to children.

Reviews

Vermox well copes with the treatment of enterobioses and ascariasis in both adults and children. Doctors parasitologists in their comments confirm this fact. With such invasions, 100% deworming is observed. In the case of earthen scabies, it is 91%, with teniodosis - 80%, angvylulose - 67%. Doctors believe that this medicine is more effective than Pirantel during the treatment of enterobiosis, but at the same time much more toxic than it. Because of this, it is forbidden to use it as a prophylactic (especially for children).

Parent reviews regarding the use of drugs in children are often positive. It is noted that during therapy, improvement is quickly taking place: the elimination of abdominal pains, the complete disappearance of signs of allergy and the stabilization of the gastrointestinal tract function.

In the negative comments, the presence of negative symptoms is usually highlighted, although they rarely develop: pain in the abdominal area and impaired stool. It should also be remembered that children are prescribed medicine by a doctor after an examination. In addition, during therapy it is required to use enterosorbents and promptly empty the intestines.
