Pharmacodynamics
Uniliv is a combined herbal remedy based on three types of medicinal plants: milk thistle, turmeric and dandelion.
The effect of milk thistle is explained by the properties of silymarin - a combination of powerful antioxidants such as silybin, silychristin, silydianin. The main properties of this plant:
- strengthening of liver cell membranes;
- protection from the negative effects of intoxication, ethyl alcohol, free radicals;
- regeneration of damaged liver cells, stimulation of phospholipid production;
- facilitating metabolic processes;
- prevention of fatty liver disease;
- blocking the development of the inflammatory process in the liver and biliary system;
- stabilization of the formation and excretion of bile;
- liver detoxification.
The action of curcumin is manifested by the following properties:
- choleretic;
- anti-inflammatory;
- lowers cholesterol levels.
Dandelion also has a choleretic effect, due to the substance taraxasterol contained in the plant.
Pharmacokinetics
The active substances of the drug interact with free radicals in liver tissues and reduce their toxic effect. They also inhibit the process of cross-oxidation of fats, which helps stop the destruction of hepatocytes. In the affected liver cells, the production of proteins and phospholipids is activated, cell membranes are stabilized, the loss of basic cellular components and enzymes is blocked, and the restoration of hepatocytes is accelerated.
Metabolism in the liver occurs by conjugation. Metabolic products are excreted through the bile system in the form of glucuronides and sulfates, and only a small portion of them is excreted in the urine. They do not accumulate in the body.

Uniliv can be used to treat adult patients and children from 12 years of age.
Oral tablets are taken during or immediately after meals. The standard treatment regimen involves taking 1 tablet 1 to 2 times a day. The duration of the therapeutic course is at least 90 days.
