Indications Ultrawist
Ultravist is used only for research and is not a therapeutic agent indicated for the treatment of a number of diseases. It is used to diagnose all parts of the body. It is administered intravenously, intraarterially, and also into the spinal cord. Depending on the dose and indications, a diagnostician selects the type of examination. This may be computed tomography, spinal cord examination, arthrography, urography and other types that use contrast fluid. Various forms of release make it possible to economically use this drug in accordance with the required doses and duration of treatment.
Release form
Ultravist has different release forms. It is released in the form of vials of different dosages and volumes. The dosage is in accordance with the amount of the active substance - iopromide, i.e. 240 mg, 300 mg and 370 mg. The volume can be 10 ml per vial, 20 ml per vial, 50 ml per vial and 100 ml per vial, 200 ml per vial and 500 ml per vial. The variety of release forms allows you to choose the best option for a specific case of diagnostics and medical research. A specialist suggests a suitable option during preparation.

Pharmacodynamics
The pharmacodynamics of the effect of Ultravist on the human body is very simple. After oral administration, the liquid from the active substance increases the contrast during diagnostic studies using radiation methods, such as: computed tomography, spinal cord studies, arthrography, urography and others. Minimal pharmacological activity characterizes Ultavist, while binding to proteins in the blood is insignificant. The effect on the kidneys and cardiovascular system is very small.

Pharmacokinetics
Pharmacokinetics of Ultravist includes absorption of active substances, their distribution in the body, metabolic processes and the final stage of excretion. After intravenous or intra-arterial administration of the drug, it is quickly distributed in the body, after 1-5 minutes it is already possible to conduct a medical examination. A third of the active substances can be detected in the blood plasma three minutes after administration. In clinically acceptable doses of the drug, its metabolites are not detected. That is, there is no metabolism as such. If the patient's kidneys are functioning normally, then there should be no problems with excretion. If this function is impaired, then specialists will pay special attention to this issue. Usually, after 2 hours, iopromide is half excreted from the body.
Dosing and administration
Regarding the method of application and dosage, there is a huge variety. Ultravist is administered intravenously, intraarterially, and also administered directly into the spinal cord, or more precisely, the fluid through the membranes of the brain. The drug must be heated to the body temperature of the person who will undergo the study. The Ultavist solution must be used once and immediately after opening the bottle. The dose is calculated according to the patient's body weight, age, general condition of the body, method of medical examination, paying special attention to risk groups and possible contraindications for use.
