So, in 1 ml of the substance enters: articaine hydrochloride 40 mg / ml and epinephrine hydrochloride 6 μg / ml. As auxiliary components are: sodium bisulphite, sodium chloride, water for injection. Ultracaine is a remedy that has a local anesthetic effect. It is widely used as an analgesic medication for dental surgery. Ultracaine is a combined medicine. It is capable of producing a vasoconstrictive effect, and at the same time act as a local anesthetic. Its main purpose is regional or infiltration anesthesia. Such is the pharmacodynamics of Ultracaine.

Atrokain hydrochloride is an amide anesthetic that exerts local action. It enters the tiaprofen group. Epinephrine hydrochloride has a vasoconstrictive effect, and prevents the ingestion of atrocaine into the blood. This reduces the likelihood of side effects.

The action of Ultracaine is noted 1 to 3 minutes after administration. Ultracaine is characterized by its safety and reliability. After use, the analgesic effect persists for 45 minutes. Due to its unique properties, the agent is not capable of leading to the regeneration of wounds.

Pharmacokinetics

Differences are observed only in plasma concentrations of articaine and articaine acid. Articaine enters the systemic bloodstream as an inactive metabolite.

After the introduction of the drug, its concentration in the area of the dental alveoli is much higher than in the systemic blood flow. The binding of the active component to plasma proteins is carried out by 95%.

 All drugs with a local analgesic effect are metabolized in the liver. The main component is inactivated by plasma esterases. This is due to hydrolysis in the carboxyl group. In view of the fact that hydrolysis passes relatively quickly, almost 90% of the main component is inactivated in this way. As a result of this process, the main metabolite, articaine acid, is formed. It does not have a local analgesic effect, but it is not toxic.

The half-life of the drug is 25 minutes. The product is excreted by the kidneys in the form of articaine acid in a volume of 64.2%, arkainic acid glucuronide - 13.4% and unchanged - 1.45%. The total ground clearance is 235 l / h.

Dosing and administration

Overdose

After administering the drug, a person may feel unpleasant symptoms. These include: motor agitation, stupor and dizziness. It is enough to put the patient in a horizontal position, as the symptoms begin to recede. In this case, it is necessary to ensure normal airway patency. If the signs are not severe, the crystalloid infusion should be performed. With persistent impairment of breathing, it is necessary to resort to artificial respiration. These signs of an overdose can occur even in a completely healthy person.

If after the use of the drug there were involuntary convulsions, it is necessary to make the introduction of ultrashort barbiturates. At the same time, monitoring of human cardiac functions continues. If there is a decrease in blood pressure, it is necessary to provide the patient with a horizontal position with raised legs up. Interactions with other drugs

Drugs that provide analgesic and local analgesic effects can not be used in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and antidepressants belonging to the tricyclic series. Such interaction with other drugs can cause the development of negative reactions from the body.

The use of epinephrine along with norepinephrine can lead to potentiation of the vasoconstrictor effect.
