Ulsepan is a medicine that successfully helps to fight gastrointestinal ulcers. The drug has a pronounced antisecretory effect. Ulsepan has a second, non-proprietary name - pantoprazole. As a representative of the group of proton pump inhibitors, it is one of the effective drugs for the treatment of ulcerative colitis. The drug is also intended for the treatment of diseases associated with acidity disorders in the gastrointestinal tract.

Indications Ulsepan

Ulsepan is suitable for use in adults and children over twelve years of age in case of reflux esophagitis.

For adults, indications for the use of Ulsepan also apply to the following diseases:

  • stomach ulcer;
  • duodenal ulcer;
  • pathological hypersecretory diseases;
  • gastroesophageal disease;
  • erosive-ulcerative - reflux esophagitis;

Release form

The medicine is biconvex tablets, which are covered with a yellow enteric coating. The release form assumes oval-shaped tablets. Each tablet contains 40 mg of the therapeutic drug - pantoprazole, which is the required daily dose of the drug. It can be released in two forms - two or four blasters (plates). Each blaster contains seven tablets.

Pharmacodynamics

Ulsepan is one of the antiulcer drugs that works due to the antisecretory effect of lantprasor. The process of inhibition of the proton pump occurs. Pharmacodynamics of Ulsepan involves the accumulation of lantraprazole among the tubules of parietal cells. Interaction with hydrogen ions occurs. Then the drug transforms sulfenamide production reactions, covalent bonds are formed with the proton pump group on the surface of the apical membrane.

As a result of these processes, the last phase of hydrochloric acid secretion is blocked and the level of acid secretion in the stomach decreases.

Pharmacodynamics Ulsepan has antibacterial activity, which contributes to the anti-Helicobacter effect of other medications used by the patient.

The pharmacokinetics of Ulsepan are not altered by antacid medications.
