Cystitis is caused mainly by various types of bacteria (E. coli, staphylococci) against the background of a weakened immune system. It involves complex treatment, which includes diet, drinking plenty of fluids, including decoctions of medicinal diuretic and anti-inflammatory herbs, herbal remedies. Effective tablets for treating cystitis at home are:

  • Cystone - has a rich composition. Among its components are plant extracts: didymocarpus stem, saxifrage ligulate, madder heart-leaved, filmy smykweed, rough strawflower, onosma bractea, vernonia ashy. In addition, the tablets contain siliceous lime, mineral resin. All this provides a diuretic, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antispasmodic effect of the drug;

  • no-shpa, papaverine, pentalgin - fast-acting antispasmodics that will bring relief and eliminate the symptoms of the disease;
  • Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that will help relieve inflammation, thereby speeding up recovery.

Treatment of cystitis at home with antibiotics

Infectious cystitis cannot be treated without antibiotics. Therapy can be carried out at home, but to determine which drug is suitable, you will have to see a urologist and do a urine culture to identify the infectious agent and its sensitivity to the antibiotic. [ 1 ], [ 2 ]

Possible drugs include:

  • palin - is available in capsules, belongs to the group of quinols, its spectrum of action is gram-negative bacteria. This occurs due to the destruction of bacterial DNA. Treatment with the drug is not used for children, pregnant women and with great caution for elderly people over 70 years old;
  • furagin - the active substance is furazidin, it inhibits biological processes in bacterial cells. It also has a number of contraindications, which you need to read in the instructions. The course of treatment can last 7-10 days;
  • Nolitsin - has a broad spectrum of action, a second-generation fluoroquinol. It is used to treat acute and chronic infections of the lower and upper urinary tract. It is used with caution in epileptics, people with mental disorders, and cardiovascular diseases;

Treatment of cystitis with folk remedies at home

Most folk recipes include drinking plenty of fluids to flush out the waste products of pathogenic microorganisms from the body and prevent them from penetrating the walls of the bladder. This will require at least 2-2.5 liters of liquid.

In addition to plain water, it is necessary to use decoctions of medicinal herbs that have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and diuretic effects. What herbs can be used separately or as part of a collection for the rapid elimination of cystitis at home? The most famous in terms of effectiveness are the following:

  • antibacterial – bearberry, honeysuckle, pol-pola, blueberry, garlic, barberry;
  • pain relievers - corn silk, plantain, marshmallow;
  • antispasmodics – skullcap, hops, chamomile;
  • urinary - shepherd's purse, horsetail, corn silk, goldenrod, plantain;
  • alkalizing - marshmallow, comfrey, ginger;
  • strengthening – elderberry, yarrow, juniper, burdock.

In addition to oral administration, medicinal plants can also help in another way, as decoctions for baths. One recipe suggests using bay leaf: 30 g of raw material is lowered into 10 liters of water, boiled for 25 minutes, poured into a vessel in which you can sit. After cooling to a warm state, immerse yourself in the water, while the genitals and buttocks should be covered. The procedure lasts 10 minutes.

In the treatment of cystitis, douching with the above-mentioned herbs is also used.

Treatment of cystitis with chamomile

Infusions and decoctions of chamomile are drunk to quickly eliminate inflammation, disinfect the urinary organs, and relieve spasms of their walls. [ 3 ]

The flowers of the plant contain coumarin compounds, flavonoids, various organic acids, bitterness, mucus, tannins, carotenes, phytosterol, polysaccharide compounds, which determines their therapeutic effect.

There are different ways of preparing them: brewing in a thermos, in a water bath, pouring boiling water. The usual proportions are a large spoon of raw material per half a liter of water, and it is best to follow the recommendations on the package. Drink herbal tea after meals, half a glass three times a day.

Another application can be a bath of the plant decoction. To prepare it, you will need 2 tablespoons of dry flowers per 0.5 liters of water. After pouring boiling water and infusing for some time, pour the strained liquid into a container with warm water, sit for 10-15 minutes.

Treatment of cystitis with soda

Baking soda also has a place in the treatment of cystitis. It is used to reduce the acidity of urine, since an acidic environment is a favorable background for the reproduction of bacteria. In addition, the substance accelerates diuretic processes, has a local antibacterial effect, reduces pain and burning. For this, a soda solution is used internally. A third of a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate is needed for a glass of water.

It is also used in baths, the procedure is usually done before bedtime. Women use soda solution for douching and washing, since the urinary and reproductive systems are interconnected.

Treatment of acute and chronic cystitis at home

Acute development of the disease should not be left to chance, delay, but start acting at home. First of all, give up spicy salty food, alcohol, smoking, switch to dietary cooking. Put a warm heating pad on the lower abdomen or between the legs. This will reduce the pain.

Brew the suggested herbs, drink them and plenty of other liquids. Take monural at night, sit in warm water with any herbal composition or soda. If the symptoms do not become weaker, be sure to consult a doctor to determine the type of pathogen and direct the action of appropriate antibacterial drugs to it, to prevent the pathology from becoming chronic.

The owner of chronic cystitis has already encountered its manifestations more than once and probably knows the treatment protocol. There is no time to waste, but to start doing the same actions as with acute cystitis. Herbal infusions and tablets made from herbal extracts will help. In addition to the above, phytolysin paste and the combined herbal medicine urolesan are effective.

Treatment of cystitis during pregnancy at home

Pregnancy brings with it predispositions to the development of cystitis: weakened immunity, an enlarging uterus that compresses the bladder and leads to urinary stasis, and decreased mobility.

At the same time, carrying a child significantly limits the therapeutic measures used at home. Many herbs can harm the expectant mother, as they relax the muscles of the uterus and can provoke a miscarriage. Warm baths are also not suitable, antibacterial agents are highly undesirable.

At home, a woman should organize proper dietary nutrition for herself, drink plenty of fluids, and cranberry juice will not hurt. The effect of herbs should be checked against reference books, fortunately, in the conditions of the existence of the Internet and Wikipedia, this is not difficult.

A visit to a doctor is required; in a medical facility, a method such as bladder instillation can be used, which involves the introduction of medications directly into the organ using a catheter.

Treatment of cystitis with blood at home

The appearance of blood in the urine is called hematuria. In addition to urinary tract infections, this may indicate other diseases, such as urolithiasis, kidney damage, tumors, including malignant ones, and some gynecological pathologies in women.

Blood staining of urine is a sure sign of the need to visit a specialist at a clinic. You cannot waste time on home treatment, there may be dangerous consequences of delay. Having received confirmation of the diagnosis of cystitis and a doctor's prescription, you can use folk methods as a complex treatment.

Treatment of postcoital cystitis at home

Postcoital cystitis occurs after sexual intercourse. This is facilitated by mechanical action and irritation of the genitals, which leads to their inflammation and infection. In women, this is facilitated by the anatomical proximity of the urethra and vagina.

Other causes of the pathology include the use of local contraceptives, decreased production of lubricant due to hormonal imbalance, and sexually transmitted infections.

Treatment of postcoital cystitis is no different from its other type, but requires stopping sexual activity until the symptoms disappear completely. It is possible that both partners will need therapy, for this you cannot rely only on home treatment, you need a doctor's opinion.
