Setegis has an α-adrenolytic effect.

The drug helps to block the activity of α1-adrenergic receptors located inside the smooth muscles of the prostate, a certain part of the urethra, and besides this, the neck of the urea; as a result, there is a decrease in resistance to urinary current and an improvement in overall urodynamics in people who suffer from prostate adenoma. At the same time, the drug does not affect the size of the prostate.

Indications Setegis

It is used in such situations:

• combination therapy for prostate adenoma ;
• reduction of increased blood pressure (in combination with other medicines or as a monotherapeutic agent).

Release form

The release of the therapeutic component is implemented in tablets with a volume of 1, as well as 2, or 5 mg. Inside the cell plate contains 10 tablets; in the box - 3 such records.

Pharmacodynamics

The basis of the hypotensive effect of drugs is the expansion of arterioles with venules. The drug weakens the post- and preload in relation to the heart muscle, reduces the values of blood pressure and CRPS, and in addition reduces the return of venous blood to the heart.

The maximum therapeutic effect of drugs is observed after 2-3 hours after oral administration and lasts for 24 hours. Use Setegis during pregnancy

The drug can not be used in pregnant or nursing.

Contraindications

The main contraindications:

• severe intolerance associated with the drug or other α-adrenoreceptor antagonist substances;
• decreased blood pressure values.

• angina or coronary artery disease;

Overdose

Interactions with other drugs

Caution should be combined with other drugs with hypotensive properties. Sometimes in such cases it is required to adjust the portion of Setegis.

Antacid sorbents reduce the absorption of the drug.

The effect of the drug is reduced in the case of a combination with NSAIDs and adrenergic stimulants.

Setegis can be used for a 36-month period from the moment the drug is manufactured.

Application for children

There is no information regarding efficacy and drug safety, which is why Setegis is forbidden to use in pediatrics.
