Septoderm has disinfectant properties and belongs to the group of antiseptics.

Indications Septoderma

It is used to disinfect the skin on the hands and body before surgical or hygienic procedures.

Release form

It is released in the form of an alcohol-based solution used for external treatment.

Pharmacodynamics

The medicine has fungicidal and bactericidal properties. It is effective against the hepatitis B virus (confirmed by antigen testing), as well as HIV, and in addition prevents the activity of rotaviruses.

Dosing and administration

To perform hygienic hand treatment for disinfection, take at least 3 ml of the medicine and rub the liquid into the dry skin of your hands for half a minute. After disinfection, wash your hands with clean water and soap (for about 2 minutes).

For surgical disinfection of hands - wipe dry skin on hands and forearms for 3 minutes (at least 10 ml of LS is required), until the medicine is completely absorbed. During the treatment process, hands should be constantly moistened using concentrated liquid.

Treatment of the skin for disinfection before performing surgical procedures, punctures, incisions or injections - it is necessary to spray or moisten, using a swab, the area of skin on which the manipulations will be performed.

Treatment of dry skin before an injection or puncture procedure: rub a concentrated solution into the skin for 15 seconds.

Before performing punctures in the area of hollow organs or cavities and joints, and also before performing surgical procedures, the skin should be treated with the medicine for at least 60 seconds.

When treating oily epidermis, the skin must be moisturized all the time while applying the solution. The treatment procedure lasts at least 10 minutes.

To inactivate the activity of the hepatitis B virus:

  • without protein loads – the treatment time with the preparation is 3 minutes;
  • with protein loads – the treatment procedure takes 5 minutes.

For the rotavirus inactivation procedure, treatment with the medication lasts a maximum of 60 seconds.

Use Septoderma during pregnancy

Septoderm is prohibited for use during pregnancy.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated to use the solution if there are open wounds, ulcerative lesions, etc. on the hands or other areas of treatment.

Side effects Septoderma

In individuals with intolerance to the drug, signs of skin irritation may appear in areas treated with alcohol liquid.

Overdose

In case of prolonged inhalation of the solution vapors or its accidental oral ingestion, signs of intoxication may develop.

In such cases, it is necessary to perform such measures as gastric lavage, and, if necessary, artificial respiration. In other situations, procedures corresponding to the symptoms that have appeared are used.

Storage conditions

Septoderm must be kept in a place out of reach of children. Temperature values – no higher than 25°C.

Shelf life

Septoderm is permitted to be used within 36 months from the date of release of the therapeutic agent.

Application for children

Should not be administered to children under 14 years of age.
