[ 1 ]
Indications Semprexa
Semprex is indicated for use in people with:
- hay fever;
- allergic rhinitis (seasonal or year-round);
- atopic dermatitis, which causes itching;
- idiopathic urticaria of chronic nature
- idiopathic acquired urticaria;
- cholinergic urticaria;
- symptomatic artificial urticaria.
Release form
The drug is available in capsules packaged in polymer foil blisters. There are twenty-four capsules in a cardboard package.
Pharmacodynamics
Acrivatstin is the active ingredient of Semprex, characterized by the absence of anticholinergic action and poor penetration through the BBB. It is an antagonist of H1 histamine receptors.
In conditions determined by the tricyclic action of histamine release, Semprex has a pronounced positive effect.
The effect after taking one capsule of the drug in adults is already evident after half an hour. And the maximum effect on such manifestations of skin allergies as rash and hyperemia is observed after one and a half to two hours after the start of treatment. Semprex has an effect on manifestations of allergic rhinitis an hour after the start of taking the capsules.
The antihistamine effect lasts for another twelve hours, gradually decreasing its activity.

Pharmacokinetics
The medicine is well absorbed and distributed fairly evenly throughout the human body. The maximum concentration of the active substance, after taking 8 mg of Semperx orally, is determined after an hour and a half. But the drug has poor permeability through the hematoencephalic barrier. The period of excretion, as well as the achievement of maximum accumulation, occurs after an hour and a half. The medicine is excreted (usually unchanged) by the kidneys.
Dosing and administration
The medicine is taken orally, without chewing, but by swallowing the capsules whole. The use of Semprex does not depend on food intake.
The dosage and individual treatment regimen are determined by the attending physician. Most often, a dosage of 25 mg/day (one capsule should be taken three times a day) shows effectiveness.
The duration of therapeutic treatment is also determined by the specialist individually for each patient, taking into account the type of allergy and the possibility of the patient's contact with the allergen.
Elderly people should have their kidney function checked periodically while taking Sempex. No dosage adjustment is required for this category of patients.

Use Semprexa during pregnancy
The drug can be used for therapy during gestation and breastfeeding if the risk to the fetus/child is lower than the potential benefit to the mother. This is due to the lack of information on the use of Sempex in these stages of life.
Contraindications
Semprek should not be used by patients with individual intolerance to any component of the drug, renal failure, and children under twelve years of age.

Side effects Semprexa
Conducted studies of the drug show that most often when taking Semprex, side effects are not observed.

It is also possible that various allergic reactions (from skin rash to anaphylactic shock) may occur in patients with individual hypersensitivity to acrivastine.
Overdose
There have been no cases of Sempex overdose. Minor gastrointestinal disturbances, headaches and increased weakness may occur if you take activatite up to 1200 mg per day.
Therapy: gastric lavage and symptomatic treatment can be performed.

Reviews
Opinions about Semprex are quite rare on the Internet, since there are quite a lot of anti-allergy medications on the pharmaceutical market. But the opinions that do exist are quite positive. Patients who have used Semprex often write that it was this anti-allergy medication that helped them cope with the disease.

The maximum shelf life of capsules is 5 years.
