Pharmacodynamics
Having plant origin and sedative characteristics, the pharmacodynamics of Sanason is aimed at calming the receptors of the central nervous system. It is this effect, provided by the valerian extract, that allows solving the problem of disturbed sleep. There is an effective calming effect on the nerve endings of the autonomic nervous system.
The active substance, obtained from hop extract, has sedative characteristics and good sleeping pill properties.
The combined action of hops and valerian allows for effective work towards improving sleep, relaxing the nervous system, and establishing psychological and emotional balance.

Dosing and administration
You should not self-medicate, when independently prescribing the amount of the drug to be taken, you can make a mistake with the dosage and instead of expecting a positive result, you can get a reverse reaction of your body in the form of various complications. Therefore, the method of application and dosage should be prescribed only by a specialist, based on the clinical picture of the disease, the neglect of the process and the age of the patient.
Pharmacologists recommend taking two to three tablets as a starting dosage for adult patients and adolescents who are already 12 years old, which, to achieve the expected effect, are taken one hour before the expected bedtime.
If patients fall into the age category of those from six to 12 years old, then the drug is taken under the supervision of a specialist, and is calculated depending on the weight of the little patient. Mostly, it is one or two tablets taken an hour before the baby is put to bed. During this period, Sanason will begin to act and the child will fall asleep calmly and quickly. If the course of treatment is completed and Sanason is canceled, no withdrawal syndrome has been observed by doctors.
Use Sanason during pregnancy
The use of Sanason during pregnancy is not recommended, especially this recommendation applies to the first trimester of pregnancy.
During the period when the child is born and the woman begins to breastfeed, the use of the drug in question is permissible only if the real need to relieve the mother’s problem clearly outweighs the expected negative impact that Sanosone can have on the child’s body.
No negative effects of Sanason on the developing and growing body of the baby have been identified, but it is still advisable not to take risks and, for the period of therapeutic treatment of the mother, transfer the child to artificial feeding, weaning him from breastfeeding.
Contraindications
No matter how safe some medications are considered, absolutely harmless drugs simply do not exist. After all, the main function of medications is to affect the patient's body so that the expected effectiveness is achieved. But today it is difficult to name even one drug that, while affecting the pathology for which it is taken, would not have a side effect on other organs and systems of the human body.
There are also contraindications to the use of Sanason. They warn against the use of this drug if the patient's medical history includes:
- Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
- Tendency to allergic reactions, especially to components of herbal preparations, since some of them can be strong allergens.
- It is not recommended to use this medicine in therapeutic treatment if the little patient is under six years old.
To prevent complications, the attending physician must be familiar with the patient's medical history.

Side effects Sanason
The drug in question is one of those that are well tolerated by the patient's body, but with rare exceptions, side effects of Sanason can still sometimes be observed. And such discomfort can manifest itself in the following symptoms:
- Manifestations of allergy:
- Skin rashes.
- Itching.
- Epidermal hyperemia.
- Other manifestations are also possible.
- Increased fatigue.
- Irritability.
- If the medicine is taken for a long time, constipation may occur.
But you shouldn't worry too much in such a situation, it is usually enough to reduce the dosage or stop taking it, and the pathological symptoms will disappear on their own. And in case of an intense allergic reaction, you should inform your doctor. He will assess the situation and give the necessary recommendations. Perhaps one of the antihistamine drugs will be introduced into the treatment protocol.
Overdose
By following the advice of a qualified physician or the recommendations given in the instructions attached to the medicine, it is practically impossible to get an excess dose of the medicine with the corresponding negative symptoms. But if the dosages are violated for some reason, then an overdose is theoretically possible.
For example, when introducing 20 g of extract from the roots and rhizomes of valerian into the body, which is neither more nor less than 123 units of the drug, or more simply tablets, the victim’s body is capable of responding with the following pathological symptoms:
- Decreased general tone of a person. Apathy.
- Spasms accompanied by pain, affecting the epigastric region.
- Tremor that occurs in the upper limbs.
- Dizziness.
- Feeling tired.
- A feeling that something is being squeezed in the chest.
- Visually, you can observe the dilation of the pupils of the eyes.
After 24 hours of taking this huge dose, these symptoms usually go away on their own.
In a situation where the amount of galenic substances (the active component of hop cones, released with extracts) introduced into the human body is exceeded, the following side effects can occur:
- Pain symptoms manifested in the abdomen and head.
- Nausea.
- Vomiting may occur.
- The person feels “broken” and completely “empty”.
If signs of an overdose appear, the first thing to do is to help the patient by washing out his stomach, and then be sure to notify the attending physician.
Storage conditions
Sanosone has been prescribed, but immediately after it has been purchased at the pharmacy, it is necessary to pay attention to the storage conditions of Sanosone. After all, the quality of the preserved pharmacological characteristics that the drug should show throughout the entire therapeutic period depends on how correctly a person will adhere to these recommendations given in the instructions attached to the drug.
There are several such recommendations:
- The medicine should be stored in a cool place where the room temperature does not exceed +25 °C.
- The room where Sanason is stored must be dry, moisture reduces the quality of the product and worsens its pharmacological characteristics.
- The drug should not be accessible to small children.
- The storage location should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
Shelf life
After purchasing a medicinal product, it is imperative to familiarize yourself with the production dates of the medicine and especially pay attention to the final effective use date, which must be reflected on the packaging of any product. If the final date has already expired, further use of the medicine in question is unacceptable. The shelf life of the sedative Sanason is two years from the date of manufacture of a specific batch of medicine.
