The complex drug Salvinum was developed as an antibiotic for local relief of the problem. The drug is developed on the basis of the leaves of sage, which has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and tanning properties and effectively suppresses the impact of invasive gram-positive microflora on the body.

Release form

The drug in question belongs to the group of antibiotics for local use. The drug is available in a one-percent alcohol solution of essential oils, poured into 10 ml glass containers.

The basis of the medicine is the extract of sage (salvia officinalis L.), as well as such oil extracts: from cedren, camphor, borneol, salven, pinene, thujone and cinerol. Auxiliary, accompanying drugs are flavonoids, alkaloids and some tanning chemicals and natural compounds.

The released liquid has a light sage smell and also has the consistency of resin with a yellowish-green tint.

Pharmacodynamics

Due to its properties, pharmacodynamics Salvin shows anti-inflammatory characteristics, this medicine demonstrates increased sensitivity of gram-positive microflora, including those that show resistance to antibiotics of other groups of pharmacological orientation. Salvin also has tanning properties.

Dosing and administration

Salvin is prescribed by the attending physician for local use. The method of application and dosage are described in the instructions attached to the medicine. It recommends its use ex tempore - as needed. That is, dilute with water to a concentration of 0.1 - 0.25% alcohol-water solution, which is obtained by diluting one part of the alcohol solution with ten or four volume parts of distilled water, respectively. In some cases, isotonic sodium chloride solution is used as a diluent.

The duration of treatment ranges from two to ten sessions, carried out daily or every other day.

This medicine is used in several ways of medical therapy. These can be lotions, applications or compresses, lubrication of gums or throat with a cotton swab soaked in the solution, as well as irrigation of the mucous surfaces of the area affected by bacteria. Salvin is also used in the form of cotton turundas, which are inserted into the gum pockets affected by the inflammatory process and purulent infection and kept for 10 minutes. Rinsing the oral cavity with a diluted solution of the drug in question is also practiced.

Use Salvin during pregnancy

Due to the fact that the drug in question does not have the results of long-term monitoring, as well as confirmed observations of the development of the clinical picture of the disease changing against the background of taking the drug in question, the use of Salvin during pregnancy is not recommended.

Without a research basis, the attending physician can prescribe this drug only at his own risk when a woman is in an "interesting" position. It is quite difficult to predict what consequences await a woman and her unborn child after undergoing a course of treatment with Salvin, perhaps over time it will turn out that there is no negative effect. But at this stage of its use, you should still be careful with its appointment to a pregnant woman.

Contraindications
