Retinalamin is a medication that helps improve the functional state of the retina.
The medicinal substance is a lyophilisate obtained from the retina of pigs or other livestock. The drug demonstrates multifunctional activity: it helps restore damaged cells, stabilizes the function of retinal cells, has a positive effect on blood coagulation processes, and in addition has a protective effect on the vascular epithelium and increases immune activity. Indications Retinalamine
It is used in case of such violations:
- open-angle glaucoma;
- pathological processes developing inside the retina, associated with trauma or inflammation;
- retinopathy of diabetic origin;
- in combination treatment of myopia;
- tapetoretinal type of abiotrophy (damage that has a peripheral or central character).
Use of drugs in diabetics: polyneuropathy or retinopathy.
Release form
The medicinal product is released in the form of a lyophilisate, inside vials with a capacity of 5 mg; inside a cell plate - 5 such vials; inside a box - 2 such plates.
Pharmacodynamics
The drug demonstrates a stimulating effect on the retinal cell and photoreceptors, helps to stabilize the function of retinal cells, restore the permeability of blood vessels and stimulate recovery in case of injury or disease of eye cells.
The effect of Retinalamin helps to improve metabolic processes, stabilize energy exchange and improve the function of the cell wall. [ 2 ]
The drug contains a complex of protein fractions soluble in water. The principle of its influence is to improve the metabolic elements of eye tissues and stabilize the activity of cell walls. The drug has a positive effect on protein binding processes, corrects fat oxidation and helps stabilize energy processes. [ 3 ]
Dosing and administration
Use of the medicine for adults.
In case of inflammation or injuries, to restore the retina, intramuscular administration of 5-10 mg of the drug once a day is required. Such treatment continues for no more than 10 days.
In case of myopia or glaucoma, 5 mg of the drug must be administered via intramuscular injection (therapy lasts a maximum of 10 days).
In addition, B-vitamins are additionally used - this allows to increase the effectiveness of the treatment.
Use of drugs in pediatrics.
If there is weakening of the retina due to trauma or inflammation, as well as in case of abiotrophy, the medicine is used intramuscularly - for children aged 1-5 years, 2.5 mg, and for people over 5 years old - 5 mg. The injection procedure must be performed once a day.
- Application for children
Retinalamin is not prescribed to infants under 1 year of age for the treatment of central retinal dystrophy.
Use Retinalamine during pregnancy
The medication is not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated to use the medicine in case of severe hypersensitivity to its active ingredient.

Occasionally, the use of drugs leads to the development of allergy symptoms.
Storage conditions
Retinalamin should be stored in a place protected from sunlight and small children.
Shelf life
Retinalamin can be used within a 36-month period from the date of sale of the medicinal product.
