Drug Reparil gel is indicated for use in injuries - bruises, sprains or lacerations, crushing of the bones of inflammatory processes in the tendon sheaths. It is used for pain syndromes, which are caused by pathological processes in the spine - with pain in the occipital region, lumbago, sciatica. It is indicated for superficial inflammatory processes in veins and varicose veins.

Release form

It is available in the form of a gel for external use and is packaged in tubes of forty or one hundred grams of the drug in each. Tube one is placed in a cardboard box and is supplied with an insert-instruction. Reparil-gel has a transparent consistency, is colorless or light yellow and has a lavender odor. In one hundred grammes of gel there is one gram of active ingredient - escin and five grams of another active substance diethylaminosalicylate. Of the auxiliary substances, there is a certain content of lavender oil, neroli oil, carbomers, macrogol-6-glycerolcaprilaprate, disodium edetate, trometamol, 2-propanol, purified water.

Pharmacodynamics

Reparil-gel has anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, venotonic and analgesic effects.

The action of the active ingredient, escin, is able, when penetrated through the skin, to prevent fluid retention in the tissues, which leads to suppression of puffiness. Also, the substance leads to suppression of inflammation and elimination of local edema. Another active substance, diethylaminosalicylate, has an anti-inflammatory effect, which is enhanced by the action of escin and leads to anesthesia.

Reparil-gel promotes the activation of lysosomal enzymes that have the ability to cleave proteoglycan, also leads to a decrease in the fragility and permeability of blood vessels, increased microcirculation, leads to the elimination of venous stasis.

Pharmacokinetics

The level of absorption of the drug is low enough and it is less than two percent of the applied amount of the drug. High concentrations of escin are found in muscle tissues under the skin area on which the drug was applied. Maximum concentrations of medication are noted in the dermis and subcutaneous fat layer six hours after its use.

Dosing and administration

The drug Reparil-gel is used externally from one to several times a day. The medicine is applied to the desired area of the skin in a uniform layer, slightly rubbing into the skin.

Use Reparil-gel during pregnancy

Do not use Reparil-gel on large areas of the skin during pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding. It is also forbidden to apply the drug to the mammary glands during breast-feeding.

Contraindications

• The presence of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
• The drug is not recommended for use on mucous membranes, open wounds, damaged areas of the skin, as well as those areas of skin that have recently been irradiated.

• Reparil-gel is well tolerated by patients.
• Rare patients can observe the appearance of local skin allergic reactions in the form of itching, skin rash and hyperemia.

Overdose

External use of the drug Reparil-gel suggests the absence of an overdose. If the medication was ingested orally, then it is necessary to resort to measures that remove the drug from the body, namely, the use of emetics. It is also recommended to contact a specialist. With available indications, a peritoneal dialysis procedure should be performed.
