Reopyrin exhibits pronounced analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic medicinal activity.

The drug helps to slow down the processes of PG biosynthesis, and at the same time inactivates the action of COX and prevents the binding of endoperoxides with free radicals. In addition, the drug suppresses the implementation of peroxide fat oxidation processes, and also weakens pain perception and inhibits the movement of pain impulses within the body.

Indications Reopyrin

It is used in case of such violations:

  • arthritis of non-infectious etiology;
  • neuralgia, and also neuritis or polyneuritis;
  • lesions affecting extra-articular tissues together with the spine, in which severe inflammation with pain is observed;
  • adnexitis, and in addition polyserositis, pericarditis or lumbago;
  • retinitis, iritis or anterior uveitis;
  • parametritis.

Release form

The medicinal element is released in the form of injection liquid, inside ampoules with a volume of 5 ml. There are 5 such ampoules inside the pack.

In addition, it is sold in the form of tablets - 10 pieces in a blister pack. There are 2 such packs in a box.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug is absorbed at high speed inside the gastrointestinal tract. A powerful synthesis of the drug with blood protein is observed.

Excretion occurs mainly via the kidneys; some of the substance is excreted via the intestines. The average half-life is 78 hours.

Dosing and administration

The tablets are taken orally - for adults, the daily dose is 4-6 tablets in 3 doses. A child aged 7-14 years should take 0.5-1 tablet 3 times a day.

Injections of the medication are administered at low speed (over the course of 1-2 minutes), intramuscularly – deep into the gluteal muscle area.

In case of rheumatic diseases, 1 ampoule of the drug is administered daily or every other day (if necessary).

In case of gynecological pathologies, 1 ampoule of liquid is used after 4-5 days, until the fever and pain disappear.

For a child aged 7-14 years, it is necessary to use 0.5-1 ml of the medication 3 times a day (daily or every other day).

  • Application for children

In pediatrics, the drug is used strictly under medical supervision, as well as in a hospital setting, where the patient's urine and peripheral blood levels, as well as liver function, are constantly monitored.

Use Reopyrin during pregnancy

Pregnant women can be prescribed the drug only if there are strict indications, with the permission of the attending physician, because there is a potential risk of chromosome aberrations within lymphocytes.

There is no information on whether Reopyrin is safe to use while breastfeeding.

Contraindications

Main contraindications:

  • severe intolerance associated with the drug;
  • chronic cardiomyopathy;
  • heart rhythm disorders;
  • diseases associated with liver/kidney function;
  • pathologies affecting the hematopoietic organs;
  • heart defects.

Side effects Reopyrin

Side effects include:

  • increased frequency of stool, severe nausea or stomach pain, ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract, and vomiting;
  • drowsiness, tachycardia and dizziness;
  • delayed excretion of water and salts within the body;
  • urticaria, epidermal rashes and itching;
  • leukopenia, and in addition anemia or agranulocytosis;
  • abscess or pain at the injection site.

Overdose

At first, poisoning causes nausea and vomiting (sometimes bloody), hallucinations and psychosis. At severe stages of intoxication, there is a disorder of EBV values and the development of a coma. After 2-7 days, changes in ECG readings, jaundice, hematopoietic disorders and liver failure appear.

Interactions with other drugs

Reopyrin potentiates the activity of antidiabetic agents, anticoagulants, barbiturates and sulfonamides.

In addition, it reduces the effects of griseofulvin, cephalosporins, diphenin and imipramine.

Storage conditions

Reopyrin should be stored in a place protected from moisture; temperature indicators should be in the range of 15-25°C.

Shelf life

Reopyrin can be used for a period of 36 months from the date of sale of the pharmaceutical product.

The analogue of the drug is the substance Pirabutol.
