Relief has a local anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictor effect. The drug is often used in proctology, because it copes well with wound healing.
Indications Relief
It is used for therapy of internal or external hemorrhoids. At the same time, the drug is effective for anal itching and helps to heal cracks that appear in the anus.
It is important to note that the medicine in the form of an ointment is often used to treat the face, although this type of treatment is not indicated in the indications. Due to the fact that the composition of the drug contains lanolin, corn and shark oil, as well as beeswax, many patients believe that Relief helps eliminate wrinkles.
People who use this ointment for cosmetic procedures claim that it not only gets rid of wrinkles, but also of bags and dark circles under the eyes, toning and smoothing the epidermis. At the same time, medical and pharmaceutical specialists speak negatively about such use of drugs.
Release form
The drug is released in the form of rectal suppositories - a blister pack contains 6 suppositories with a volume of 5 mg. A pack contains 2 such packages with suppositories.
Also available as an ointment - in tubes with a capacity of 28.4 mg. The box contains 1 such tube complete with a special applicator.

Pharmacodynamics
Since suppositories contain such an important element as shark oil, they demonstrate extremely high efficiency in hemorrhoids. This natural component itself has unique healing properties that have an anti-inflammatory and hemostatic effect on the human body. In combination with phenylephrine hydrochloride, which is an α-adrenomimetic, shark oil helps to heal wounds that appear as a result of hemorrhoidal lesions.
It is necessary to pay attention that the symptoms and consequences of developed hemorrhoids are well dealt with by the medicine in the form of an ointment. It can be administered rectally or used externally. The ointment has a vasoconstrictor effect and at the same time reduces exudation and tissue edema, and also eliminates itching.
Dosing and administration
Both suppositories and ointment must be used after all required hygiene procedures have been completed.
Scheme of using suppositories.
The suppositories must be inserted rectally, 1 piece 4 times a day (also at night). The procedure should be carried out only after performing hygiene procedures, and in addition after each bowel movement.
Mode of application of the ointment.
The ointment is used both rectally and externally. Before applying it, you need to perform all the required hygiene procedures, then remove the protective cap from the special applicator, and then attach it to the tube and perform rectal treatment.
The ointment can also be used to treat external areas of the anus.
Teenagers over 12 years of age and adults are allowed to use the medication 4 times a day (this includes procedures at night and after each bowel movement).
It is important to remember that after the procedure, the applicator must be washed and then closed with a protective cap.
Use Relief during pregnancy
The medication should not be used during lactation or pregnancy. Only in exceptional cases can the ointment or suppositories be used by pregnant or lactating women (but only after consultation with a doctor).
Contraindications
Main contraindications:
- the presence of intolerance to the active components of the medication;
- thromboembolism;
- granulocytopenia.
The drug is prescribed with extreme caution to diabetics, as well as to people with high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism or hypertrophy.
Interactions with other drugs
It is forbidden to combine Relief with antihypertensive medications and antidepressants, because the element phenylephrine in its composition has the ability to reduce the effectiveness of the former, and can also cause the development of a hypertensive crisis in the case of using the latter.
Shelf life
Relief can be used within 24 months from the date of manufacture of the therapeutic drug.

Reviews
Relief receives quite varied reviews regarding its medicinal effectiveness in hemorrhoids. Among the comments, there are both positive assessments from patients who have used it, and opinions that the drug did not produce the desired result when used.
There are also reviews about how the drug works during pregnancy and whether it is worth using it at all during this period. Only a few pregnant women decide to use the medication, but there are also comments from those who used it and got the desired result.
There are also many comments on the Internet from people who use or want to use Relief ointment to eliminate wrinkles. It should be noted that pharmacists and doctors respond extremely negatively to this method of using the drug, but this does not prevent a large number of people from treating their facial skin with it, achieving, as they believe, a noticeable effect (but it should be taken into account that such experiments are not supported by any scientific testing).
