Scratching, sometimes until it bleeds, any area of skin or mucous membranes is unbearable torment. It is not quite decent to scratch your arm, leg or shoulder in public, and it is completely impossible to scratch more intimate parts of the body. Itching is often accompanied by burning, and scratching is accompanied by pain, damage to the integrity of the skin or mucous membranes. You want to get rid of such torment, or, if possible, alleviate your condition as soon as possible.

Itching in the groin or anal area is just a symptom that can be caused by various reasons. This condition in the groin area can be caused not only by pathologies of the genitourinary tract, but also by the intestines, hormonal dysfunctions, diabetes, liver diseases. The cause of anal itching in most cases is hemorrhoids and anal fissures, but the presence of parasites, infections of the genitourinary system can also contribute to the appearance of itching. The skin and mucous membranes of the intimate areas can itch from allergies, dermatitis caused by contact with inappropriate underwear, soap, intimate care products, toilet paper, especially scented ones.

Often, you can get rid of the unpleasant sensations on your own, with the help of hygiene procedures, suppositories, powders, but if the itching does not subside, but even gets worse, you need to put everything aside and seek help from a specialist.

Indications itch suppositories

Suppositories for intravaginal use are used for viral, fungal, bacterial, protozoal infections of the genital tract, and corrective treatment of hormonal disorders.

Rectal suppositories are used for anal itching, mainly hemorrhoidal.

Dosing and administration

Intravaginal suppositories that eliminate the causes of genital tract itching

I would like to remind you once again that the remedy, used as directed, will eliminate unpleasant symptoms much faster, so it would not be at all superfluous to visit a gynecologist and undergo simple and painless diagnostic procedures (analysis of a smear of discharge, ultrasound of the pelvic organs).

Hexicon

The active component is chlorhexidine bigluconate, which has an antibacterial and antiprotozoal effect. Destroys the pathogens of chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea, ureaplasmosis, trichomoniasis, gardnerellosis, as well as bacteroides fragilis, which cause purulent and/or inflammatory processes in the genitourinary system.

It is not active against some strains of Proteus and Pseudomonas, as well as against beneficial representatives of healthy vaginal microbiocenosis – lactobacilli and acid-resistant microorganisms. The presence of purulent and/or bloody discharge reduces the effectiveness of Hexicon.

When used intravaginally, absorption is insignificant. Use by pregnant and lactating women is possible.

Contraindication to use is sensitization to the ingredients of Hexicon.

Occasionally, an allergy may occur in the form of increased itching in the groin area, which disappears on its own when the use of suppositories is stopped.

Hexicon suppositories are intended for intravaginal use. After removing the blister pack, one suppository is inserted deep into the vagina once or twice a day. Duration of therapy is from one week to ten days. The maximum duration is 20 days.

To prevent sexually transmitted diseases, one suppository is administered. The time interval between the end of sexual intercourse and the use of the drug is no more than two hours.

The consequences of exceeding the therapeutic dose of Hexicon and clinically significant interactions with other drugs are not known.

Store for no more than three years at low humidity in a room without light, maintaining a temperature of up to 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.

Pimafucin

The active ingredient of Pimafucin is natamycin, a fungicidal polyene antibiotic. It belongs to macrolides, the least toxic drugs of natural origin. It is active against candidiasis pathogens and other yeast fungi, and to a lesser extent against dermatophytes.

The antifungal effect is achieved by disrupting the integrity of fungal cell membranes. No resistance to natamycin is observed.

When used intravaginally, absorption is insignificant. Use by pregnant and lactating women is possible.

Contraindication for use is sensitization to the ingredients of Pimafucin.

Occasionally, an allergic reaction may occur in the form of irritation in the area of application, which disappears on its own after the use of the suppositories is stopped.

Pimafucin suppositories are used intravaginally in case of candidal vulvovaginitis. Having previously removed the blister pack, one suppository is inserted deeper into the vagina once a day at night in a lying position. The average duration of use is three to six days. To consolidate the therapeutic effect, treatment is continued for two or three days after the disappearance of external manifestations of the disease.

The consequences of exceeding the therapeutic dose of Pimafucin and clinically significant interactions with other drugs are not known.

Store for no more than four years at room temperature (up to 25°C).

Depantol

The active ingredients are chlorhexidine bigluconate in combination with dexpanthenol. The suppositories stop the inflammatory process, destroy pathogenic microflora, and normalize the condition of the vaginal mucosa.

Chlorhexidine bigluconate has an antibacterial and antiprotozoal effect. Destroys pathogens of chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea, ureaplasmosis, trichomoniasis, gardnerellosis, as well as bacteroides fragilis, causing purulent and/or inflammatory processes of the genitourinary system.

It is not active against some strains of Proteus and Pseudomonas, as well as against beneficial representatives of healthy vaginal microbiocenosis – lactobacilli and acid-resistant microorganisms. The presence of purulent and/or bloody discharge reduces the effectiveness of this substance.

Dexpanthenol is a modified form of pantothenic acid, an element of the acetylation coenzyme, a participant in protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism. Activates the production of glucocorticoids, acetylcholine, histamine. A catalyst for oxidation-reduction processes that promote the restoration of mucous membrane tissues, increasing their density and elasticity.

Depantol suppositories are not active against representatives of the normal vaginal microflora.

When the drug is used locally, absorption of the active ingredients is insignificant.

Use by pregnant and lactating women is possible.

Contraindication to use is sensitization to the ingredients of Depantol.

Occasionally, an allergic reaction may occur in the form of irritation in the area of application, which disappears on its own after the use of the suppositories is stopped.

Depantol suppositories are used locally. Having previously removed the blister pack, one suppository is inserted deeper into the vagina twice a day in a lying position. The average duration of use is seven to ten days. The maximum duration of treatment is 20 days.

Do not use together with products containing anionic group or soap.

There is no data on overdose.

Store for no more than two years at a temperature of 10-20ºС.

Utrozhestan

A hormonal preparation with active progesterone (pregnancy hormone), normalizing the secretory function in the uterine mucosa. Improves the structure of the endometrium, returning its ability to implant and develop an embryo, prevents miscarriages during pregnancy, reduces the tone of the uterine muscles, stimulates the restructuring of the mammary glands. Normalizes the secretion of testosterone.

It is used for replacement therapy for progesterone deficiency, which also causes itching of the genitals.

It is available in capsule form and can be used either orally or intravaginally.

Intravaginal use of hormonal capsules Utrozhestan requires strict adherence to the schedule prescribed by the doctor. This drug is prescribed in cases of removal of one or both ovaries; dysfunction of their function; egg donation in combination with drugs containing estrogen; in vitro fertilization for successful implantation and development of the embryo; menstrual cycle phase disorders and infertility due to this pathology; threat of miscarriage; treatment of habitual miscarriage. In each case, an individual treatment regimen is selected. Self-medication with these drugs can lead to tragic consequences.

It is not contraindicated for pregnant women, however, in the last three months of pregnancy, it is used with caution due to the possible development of liver failure, as well as during lactation - due to a decrease in the production of breast milk.

Contraindicated in cases of intermenstrual hemorrhagic manifestations of unknown genesis; incomplete spontaneous abortion; neoplasms of the reproductive organs and mammary glands;
Porphyria; intolerance to the components of Utrozhestan.
Intravaginal use of capsules occasionally leads to hemorrhagic manifestations between phases of the menstrual cycle.

Utrozhestan can increase the hypotensive effect of drugs that reduce blood pressure, diuretics, anticoagulants, immunosuppressants. Reduces the lactogenicity of oxytocin.

With prolonged local use, mild symptoms may be observed, identical to side effects, which disappear on their own when the drug is discontinued.

Store for no more than three years at temperatures up to 25°C.

A very common cause of itching and burning in the intimate area is vaginal candidiasis or thrush. It is caused by many circumstances - from taking antibiotics to sexually transmitted infections. You can get rid of thrush using the above-described vaginal suppositories Pimafucin, as well as suppositories for itching in the intimate area - Livarol, Nystatin, Polygynax. These are antifungal drugs, active antagonists of candidiasis.

It is not recommended for pregnant and lactating women to use these drugs without consulting a doctor.

Anti-itch suppositories of other pharmacological groups

When treating urinary tract infections, suppositories with metronidazole are often prescribed, an effective antibacterial drug that also causes a lot of side effects. Itching from suppositories with metronidazole (allergic vaginitis) is a common occurrence, and it is important to inform your doctor about it.

To get rid of vaginitis, you need to restore normal vaginal microbiocenosis, that is, reduce the number of pathogenic representatives and populate it with beneficial microorganisms.

In this case, vaginal suppositories Acylact can help, which include three strains of acidophilic lactobacilli, active against many pathogenic and opportunistic microbes.

When lactobacilli enter the vagina, they begin to process glycogen to form lactic acid. This helps restore the natural acidic environment, which is not conducive to the development of pathogenic microorganisms (they also lack glycogen for nutrition).

At the same time, Doderlein's bacilli, representatives of healthy vaginal microflora that maintain its normal parameters, begin to actively multiply. All this has a detrimental effect on pathogenic microorganisms that live in an alkaline environment.

Atsilakt suppositories can be used during pregnancy and lactation, since their active ingredient is lactobacilli.

Suppositories are contraindicated for vaginal candidiasis, since the acidic environment causes rapid growth of fungi. In this case, the fungi are first removed, and then the microflora is restored.

Insert one suppository once or twice daily for ten days. Repeat the course of treatment after ten to twenty days. Two such courses can be administered within three months, with an interval of at least ten days.

It is allowed to use suppositories together with antimicrobial, antiviral and oral medications that enhance immunity. Do not use suppositories Acylact intravaginally together with antibiotics.

Synonyms for Atsilakt suppositories are Lactobacterin suppositories (have a more pronounced effect due to the higher content of lactobacilli), vaginal capsules Laktonorm and Ecofemin.

An analogue of this drug is the vaginal suppository Acipol. In addition to lactobacilli, they contain kefir fungus polysaccharide.

Lactobacilli stimulate the process of creation and development of natural and balanced microflora.

Kefir grain polysaccharide is an immunomodulator that increases the protective barrier.

Another vaginal probiotic is Bifidumbacterin suppositories, which contain active bifidobacteria.

Suppositories for anal itching

Suppositories for itching in the anus are a convenient dosage form that allows the active component of the drug to be well absorbed by the vessels of the anorectal zone. The components of suppositories, as a rule, are vasoconstrictor ingredients, as well as those that relieve spasms and pain, combined on the basis of neutral fats that act as a laxative.

The most famous brand of antihemorrhoidal suppositories is Relief. Quite popular are Proctozan, Anuzol, suppositories based on sea buckthorn oil.

They are used in cases of hemorrhoids, cracks, microtraumas, erosive manifestations both inside and outside the rectum, anal itching.

Relief

Antihemorrhoidal suppositories, which contain:

  • shark liver oil, which has an effect at the site of application that stops bleeding, relieves inflammation, increases immunity and stimulates tissue regeneration;
  • Phenylephrine hydrochloride is a synthetic alpha-adrenergic receptor stimulant that constricts the blood vessels in the anorectal area, helping to restore the balance in the tissues of this area between their filling with blood and its outflow (as a result, swelling, exudation, discharge and, accordingly, itching are reduced).

These ingredients are combined in candles based on cocoa butter, a natural emollient.

For pregnant and lactating women, it is prescribed by a doctor when it is impossible to use an alternative remedy.

Contraindicated in cases of low granulocyte count in the blood; tendency to thrombosis; sensitization to the ingredients of suppositories.

Relief suppositories are used only after performing hygienic procedures in the area of application. They are inserted into the anus one at a time, maximum four times a day.

Systematic use provides lasting relief.

Relief suppositories are not recommended for use together with monoamine oxygenase inhibitors, drugs for hypertension and depression.

If the recommended dose is significantly exceeded, there is a theoretical risk of increased thrombus formation.

The suppositories are available in three modifications: Relief (described above); Relief Advance – with an anesthetic component (benzocaine), provides local anesthesia;

Relief Ultra - its complex, in addition to shark liver oil, includes sulfate

Zinc (a drying and regenerating component) and hydrocortisone acetate, which constricts blood vessels and stops the inflammatory and allergic process.

Due to the presence of an anti-allergic component, Relief Ultra suppositories have the most powerful effect against itching.

Store for no more than two years, protecting from light and maintaining a temperature of up to 27°C.

Proctozan

A complex product containing a combination of ingredients:

  • NSAID bufexamac – stops inflammation of anorectal tissues by inhibiting the biosynthesis of prostaglandins, which helps eliminate pain;
  • bismuth subgallate - on areas of skin and mucous membranes that come into contact with the suppository, it forms albuminates with proteins of mucus, blood, exudate, creating a protective film only on the unhealthy surface; thus, it has a hemostatic, drying effect;
  • titanium dioxide is a mineral substance that catalyzes the action of the previous components;
  • lidocaine hydrochloride - blocks the excitation and passage of pain impulses along nerve fibers, simultaneously eliminating the sensation of itching and burning in the anal area, thereby ensuring the rapid analgesic effect of this drug.

The components of the drug in combination exhibit rapid anti-inflammatory, analgesic, astringent and antipruritic effects, accelerate the process of restoration of the skin surface and mucous membranes, and eliminate bleeding.

Rectal suppositories Proctozan do not have a systemic effect.

Not recommended for use by pregnant and lactating women.

Contraindicated in case of sensitization to the components of the suppositories; skin manifestations of non-specific diseases in the area of application; allergic history; age 0-17 years.

Local allergic reactions are possible occasionally. The interaction of Proctozan suppositories with a condom reduces the elasticity of the latter.

Rectal suppositories are inserted into the rectum - one piece twice a day until acute symptoms disappear, after which the number of injections is reduced to once. The duration of treatment is individual, maximum seven days. For the most effective action of the drug, it is recommended to insert suppositories after emptying the bowels, having carried out the necessary hygiene procedures and moistened the anus with warm water.

There are no known cases of overdose.

Store for no more than five years, maintaining a temperature of 15-25ºС, at low humidity in a dark place.

Posterisan forte

A combination drug with active ingredients – inactivated Escherichia coli cells and hydrocortisone.

Escherichia coli and their metabolic products, entering the rectal mucosa, cause an immune response as foreign elements, increasing the resistance of tissues at the site of suppository administration to the influence of pathogenic microorganisms. Activation of T-lymphocytes, phagocytosis of leukocytes and other immune factors occurs. At the same time, the secretion of exudate during inflammation decreases, blood vessels are toned, their permeability decreases, damaged tissues are restored.

Hydrocortisone removes swelling, redness, and itching.

Pregnant and lactating women are allowed to use it only for medical reasons.

Contraindicated in case of bacterial and/or fungal infections of the anal area, sensitization to the ingredients of Posterisan Forte suppositories.

Allergies are possible.

Suppositories are inserted in the morning, during the day each time after defecation and before bedtime. Duration of use is from two to three weeks.

The effect of hydrocortisone is enhanced or there may be side effects when used in combination with other drugs containing it.

Store for no more than two years, maintaining a temperature of 0-25ºС and low air humidity, in a dark place. Keep out of reach of children.

Natalsid suppositories

The active component of these suppositories is obtained from ochrophyte seaweed, which copes well with inflammation and bleeding, healing anal fissures and restoring the damaged surface of the mucous membranes and the normal balance of its microflora.

They have virtually no side effects. Unlike most similar drugs, they are not contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women.

Anuzol suppositories

A complex product consisting of xeroform, thick belladonna extract and zinc sulfate. Removes inflammation, disinfects, relieves spasms, pain, itching, dries and stops bleeding. Contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women.

It has a number of contraindications - closed-angle glaucoma, prostate tumors, heart rhythm disturbances, CHF, intestinal atony. It causes dry mouth, thirst, diarrhea, heart rate disturbances, insomnia, visual impairment, allergies. During therapy with Anuzol suppositories, it is necessary to avoid activities related to concentration.

Candles with sea buckthorn oil

Pregnant and breastfeeding women can be recommended very effective suppositories with sea buckthorn oil for discomfort in the anus (use after consulting a doctor).

Their main element is sea buckthorn oil extract, which contains a variety of biologically active components, polyunsaturated acids and a vitamin complex, unique in composition. Sea buckthorn suppositories cope well with inflammation, pathogenic microorganisms, bleeding, exhibit antihistamine, antioxidant, wound-healing properties. The result of their use is the disappearance of pain, swelling, itching, bloody discharge, even hemorrhoids.

Suppositories based on sea buckthorn oil extract are not dangerous, they can be used from the age of six and as a preventative measure against exacerbations of hemorrhoids and anal fissures.

Contraindications: diarrhea, pancreatitis, gallstones and ducts, age 0-5 years, intolerance. Allergy is possible.

For children aged 12 years and over, administer one unit twice daily; for children aged 6–12 years, administer one unit once daily for one week to ten days.
