RBTon is used to treat iron deficiency anemia (IDA) or the so-called "anemia". According to WHO statistics for 2000, about 800 million people in the world suffer from IDA or latent iron deficiency. The risk group includes small children, adolescents and women. Depletion of iron reserves in the human body leads to a decrease in hemoglobin synthesis, resulting in oxygen starvation of internal organs and tissues.
When treating IDA with iron-containing drugs, a higher effect is observed than when eating various foods "rich in iron" (apples, buckwheat porridge, liver, caviar, etc.). This is due to the more active absorption of iron due to the specially developed medical formula of such drugs.
Indications R.B. TONE
Indications for use of R.B.TON are, first of all, the treatment of iron deficiency anemia of various etiologies, including anemia of pregnant women. The drug is effective in cases of iron absorption disorders, long-term bleeding, chronic infectious diseases and malnutrition. Treatment with this drug is carried out by means of a complex effect on the body. R.B.TON contains vitamins and microelements that normalize metabolic processes and hematopoiesis.

Release form
R.B.TON, like many modern medical drugs, has different dosages.
The drug is available in capsules in blisters of 15 (1 x 15) and 150 (10 x 15) pieces. Country of manufacture: India (pharmaceutical company Medley Pharmaceuticals Limited).
"Capsule" is a gelatin "case" that contains a medicinal product and is easily dissolved in the human gastrointestinal tract. The capsule dosage form contains 1/3 of a liquid or powdered medicinal product. In other words, a capsule is a dosed medical product consisting of a medicinal product placed under a shell. It should be noted that encapsulation is considered the most modern form of medicinal product release. The production of capsule preparations is mainly the prerogative of the largest pharmaceutical companies. A big advantage of encapsulation over tableting is the absence, in addition to the main active components, of binding ingredients, which are most often of chemical origin. In tablets, such components are present for better pressing of the medicinal product into tablet form.

Pharmacodynamics
R.B.TON is a combination drug that, in addition to the main component - iron, includes vitamins and microelements. In combination, they provide an effective action, quickly eliminating iron deficiency, resulting in regression of laboratory and clinical indicators of anemia.
The pharmacodynamics of R.B.TON consists of the process of compensating for iron deficiency, the main purpose of which is to promote the normal formation of hemoglobin as a result of erythropoiesis (formation of red blood cells).
B vitamins (B1, B2, B5, B6 and B12) take an active part in the processes of fat, protein and carbohydrate metabolism, as well as many reactions of biological oxidation. In addition, they are important for the emergence of vital enzymes. Vitamin B12 is very important for cell reproduction, nucleoprotein synthesis, and hematopoiesis.
Vitamin C helps to increase the absorption of elemental iron and also takes part in the metabolism of folic acid, which protects the body from the negative effects of teratogenic factors, which is especially important during pregnancy.
Zinc plays the role of a cofactor and is necessary for normal DNA and RNA synthesis. It is important in the synthesis of many hormones, proteins, and also has a beneficial effect on the development of reproductive organs, the activity of the pituitary gland and gonadotropic hormones.
Pharmacokinetics
R.B.TON has a complex effect on the human body for the purpose of treating and preventing iron deficiency.
The pharmacokinetics of R.B.TON has not been studied to date. It should be noted that the essence of pharmacokinetics is determined by such reactions as the absorption of the drug, its distribution in organs, tissues, cells, fluids, as well as metabolism and the process of elimination (excretion) from the body.
Pharmacokinetics includes such components as the chemical composition and main properties of the active substance of a certain drug; features of the course of the disease and hereditary characteristics of the patient; dosage form. Since R.B.TON is released in capsule form, it can be assumed that its absorption by the gastrointestinal tract occurs quite quickly, as well as distribution in organs and tissues. This is facilitated by the optimal combination of active components of the drug.
The pharmacokinetic properties of a drug determine the duration of its action, as well as the half-life of the body, i.e. the time allotted for the blood plasma to be cleared of the drug by 50%. For the implementation of pharmacokinetic processes, an important condition is their penetration through cell membranes.
Dosing and administration
R.B.TON is used in modern medicine to treat iron deficiency anemia of various etiologies, including anemia of pregnancy. The duration of the treatment period with the drug, as well as its dosage, depend on several factors and, first of all, on the severity of the anemia. After examining the patient, the attending physician prescribes the optimal course of treatment, taking into account the results of medical tests, the patient's condition and the characteristics of the course of the disease. It is also important to pay attention to the contraindications when taking this drug.
Method of administration and dosage of the medicinal product R.B.TON: orally 1 capsule per day one hour before meals. This dosage is equally suitable for both adults and children aged 12 years and older. In more severe cases of anemia, the dosage of the drug can be increased to 2 capsules per day (respectively, 1 capsule in the morning and evening hours).
The duration of the treatment course depends on the body's sensitivity to the drug. If the patient experiences side effects, they should consult a doctor. Usually, such symptoms are temporary; in case of overdose, it is recommended to reduce the dose of the drug. In general, the dynamics of the disease are taken into account, ‒ it determines the dosage of the drug.
Use R.B. TONE during pregnancy
R.B.TON is widely used in the treatment of iron deficiency (anemia) in pregnant women. It prevents fetal development disorders, hypoxia and premature birth. This effect is achieved due to the balanced composition of the drug, which is selected in accordance with the needs of the expectant mother and the small organism forming in her womb. The composition of R.B.TON harmoniously combines ascorbic acid, iron gluconate, B vitamins (B1, B2, B6, B12), calcium phosphate, folic acid, nicotinamide, calcium pantothenate, zinc sulfate.
The use of R.B.TON during pregnancy is aimed at effectively suppressing iron deficiency. The main component of the drug - iron gluconate - completely compensates for iron deficiency, which has been repeatedly confirmed by laboratory and clinical indicators. Thus, as a result of treatment, pregnant women are replenishing iron deficiency, blood indicators are improving, signs of tissue hypoxia and edema disappear. The fetus begins to receive oxygen and nutrients in sufficient quantities.
By taking R.B.TON, you can avoid the main complications caused by IDA (iron deficiency anemia): gestosis, termination of pregnancy, delayed fetal development, arterial hypotension, premature placental abruption, premature birth, and the birth of a child with low birth weight.
By replenishing the iron deficiency in the expectant mother by taking the drug R.B.TON, it is possible to avoid serious deviations in the development of the brain and immune system of the fetus, which can be caused by a lack of iron, and in the neonatal period, to prevent the risk of developing infectious diseases.
Contraindications
R.B.TON is well tolerated by patients, however, before starting treatment, it is important to take into account factors that indicate contraindications to taking this drug.
Contraindications for the use of R.B.TON:
- hypersensitivity of the patient to iron gluconate, as well as any component of the drug;
- hemochromatosis (a process of iron metabolism disorder in the body);
- hemosiderosis (a process caused by excessive deposition of hemosiderin, an iron-containing pigment, in the body's tissues);
- hemolytic anemia (the process of destruction of red blood cells, which can result in jaundice, anemia, splenomegaly (enlargement of the spleen), as well as intense coloring of the patient's feces and urine due to the entry of hemoglobin conversion products into them);
- age up to 12 years.
Thus, in order to avoid complications during the administration of R.B.TON, it is necessary to carefully examine the patient for possible concomitant painful conditions, which in combination with the administration of an iron-containing drug can cause various disorders and failures in the functioning of internal organs. Due to excessive accumulation of iron in tissues and organs, joints and skin are most often affected, and the functions of the heart, liver, pituitary gland, and pancreas are disrupted.
Side effects R.B. TONE
R.B.TON is a highly effective remedy for replenishing iron in the body and complex treatment of anemia. However, like any other medication, this remedy may have side effects that cause unwanted effects when used, both in therapeutic doses and in doses exceeding therapeutic doses. In the latter case, side effects are considered toxic.
The most common side effects of R.B.TON:
- bitter taste in the mouth;
- allergic reactions (itching, skin rashes);
- abdominal discomfort;
- nausea and vomiting;
- diarrhea or constipation;
- heartburn;
- dizziness;
- headache;
- a feeling of tightness behind the breastbone;
- pain in the throat;
- general weakness, malaise;
- anaphylactic shock.
When taking this medicine, it is necessary to take into account that iron gluconate can also provoke blackening of stools. Usually, the occurrence of side effects of the medicine R.B.TON is sudden and transient.
What causes side effects of drugs? First of all, their specific activity and chemical nature, as well as the peculiarities of the body's reaction to the effects of a particular drug.
Overdose
R.B.TON must be taken strictly according to the doctor's prescribed regimen, without exceeding the dosage to avoid complications. Excessive saturation of the body with iron is undesirable for the patient and can lead to the occurrence of unpleasant and sometimes dangerous conditions.
Overdose of the drug may cause symptoms such as:
- nausea and vomiting;
- abdominal pain;
- diarrhea (possibly with blood);
- constipation;
- headache;
- weakness and dizziness;
- excitation;
- paresthesia (impaired sensitivity);
- hypotension;
- increased heart rate.
The use of high doses of the drug R.B.TON can provoke clouding of consciousness, the occurrence of convulsions, fever, as well as the development of renal or hepatic necrosis, and in severe cases – coma.
In case of drug overdose, specific therapy should be carried out in the form of gastric lavage and milk intake. If a significant increase in ferritin is observed in the blood serum, deferoxamine (a drug used for acute and chronic iron intoxication) should be prescribed orally and parenterally (bypassing the digestive tract).
Unfortunately, in case of overdose, hemodialysis is not effective and will not help remove iron from the body, but it can be considered as a way to remove the remaining components of the drug.
Interactions with other drugs
R.B.TON should be taken as prescribed by the attending physician. Correct use of this drug gives effective results within a few days after the start of taking it.
When prescribing R.B.TON, it is necessary to inform the doctor about the possible simultaneous use of other medications, since their interaction can have a negative impact on the treatment and only worsen the situation. Particularly dangerous is the simultaneous use of drugs that reduce stomach acidity and promote iron absorption.
Interactions of R.B.TON with other drugs:
- Medicines that reduce the acidity of gastric juice, in particular calcium preparations, antacids, as well as pancreatin and caffeine, can reduce the absorption of R.B.T.O.N. For this reason, it is necessary to control the interval between taking these medicines. It should be at least 1-2 hours.
- R.B.TON provokes a decrease in the absorption of penicillamine, tetracyclines, and fluoroquinolones, therefore these drugs must be taken 2 hours before or after taking R.B.TON.
- It is necessary to combine the intake of R.B.TON and Ethanol with caution. The latter promotes iron absorption and thus increases the risk of various toxic complications.
Storage conditions
R.B.TON must be stored in accordance with the instructions in the annotation.
Storage conditions for R.B.TON are specified in the instructions for use: this drug should be stored in a dry, dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. It is important that this place is inaccessible to children.
The main factors that need to be taken into account when storing R.B.TON, as with almost all medicinal products, are:
- influence of light;
- temperature conditions;
- contact of the drug with air;
- humidity level;
- availability of storage space.
It is important to remember that the fastest destruction of drugs occurs under the influence of direct sunlight. Therefore, the best option for storage will be a dark place.
Capsules, like tablets, are hygroscopic, so they get wet easily. Therefore, rooms with unstable humidity levels (for example, a bathroom, a summer house veranda, an open balcony) are absolutely not suitable for storing them. In addition, it is important to store R.B.TON in the original packaging, hermetically sealed. When open, the drug reacts with oxygen and absorbs volatile substances. Evaporation of the active substances of the drug is also possible, especially when exposed to sunlight.
Shelf life
R.B.TON has its own expiration date, which is indicated in the annotation - 2 years. After this period, it is not recommended to take the drug. This applies to all drugs. You should not risk it, even if the packaging is almost intact.
It is important to take into account the expiration date, since many drugs lose their properties after the established period and can even be dangerous to humans. Expired drugs are a combination of components with an unpredictable effect.
It is recommended to store the opened bottle with capsules and tablets for 1 year after opening to avoid the risk of gastrointestinal problems. According to experiments, E. coli or staphylococcus often multiply in an open bottle with a medicine.
It is important to consider the storage conditions of the medicine. Thus, capsules and tablets have the ability to absorb moisture or, conversely, shrink, which in turn affects their absorption by the body. By strictly following the instructions for the drug, you can avoid many problems and complications associated with improper use.
