Raphacholine C is a medicine used for pathologies of the biliary tract and liver. It is part of a group of drugs prescribed for biliary diseases.

Indications Rafaholina C

It is used to treat manifestations of dyspepsia and dyskinesia of the biliary tract of a hypotonic nature.

Release form

The release occurs in tablets, in the amount of 30 pieces inside a blister pack. The pack contains 1 blister plate.

Pharmacodynamics

The medicine has a combined effect - it exhibits a choleretic effect and activates the bile-forming activity of the liver. Raphacholine C has a direct effect on the liver, stimulating its excretory processes and increasing the volume of bile secreted.

The drug also enhances intestinal peristalsis and has a protective effect on the liver parenchyma, and in addition, it has a diuretic and antispasmodic effect.

Dosing and administration

The medicine should be taken orally. For adolescents from 12 years old and adults - 1 or 2 tablets, take after meals, 3 times a day. To eliminate flatulence - adults should take 2 tablets 30 minutes before meals (in the morning and also in the evening).

Use Rafaholina C during pregnancy

There is no information about the safety of taking Raphacholine C during pregnancy or lactation, so in these cases the use of the drug is prohibited.

Contraindications

Main contraindications:

  • the presence of hypersensitivity to elements of the drug or other plants that belong to the Asteraceae family;
  • severe liver pathologies, severe form of hepatocellular insufficiency;
  • obstruction in the biliary tract (this also includes stenosis and obstruction);
  • inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract (acute or chronic);
  • cholelithiasis;
  • since the medicine contains sucrose, it is prohibited to prescribe it to people with hypersensitivity (hereditary) to sucrose-isomaltose, as well as fructose and glucose-galactose;
  • empyema in the gallbladder area.

Clinical tests regarding the use of the drug in children under 12 years of age have not been performed. It is prescribed with caution in diabetes mellitus due to the presence of sucrose.

Side effects Rafaholina C

Taking the drug may lead to the development of some side effects:

  • lesions affecting the gastrointestinal tract: loose stools/diarrhea, epigastric discomfort, biliary colic, nausea and heartburn, as well as gastroesophageal reflux;
  • immune disorders: allergy symptoms (including itching with rashes, hyperemia, urticaria, skin swelling and contact dermatitis).

If the patient exhibits allergic symptoms, it is necessary to stop taking the drug and consult with your doctor.

Overdose

Among the manifestations of intoxication: diarrhea and vomiting, redness of the face, headaches, respiratory distress, tachycardia, problems with the heart rhythm. In addition, muscle contraction, a feeling of excitement or extreme fatigue, potentiation of side effects or nausea.

Interactions with other drugs

When taking large doses in combination with diuretics and antihypertensive drugs, hypokalemia may develop.

As a result of combination with hypocholesterolemic drugs, the properties of Raphacholine C are potentiated.
