Pedilin is a medicine that destroys ectoparasites. The active component of the medicine is malathion. The drug belongs to the category of insecticides of organophosphorus nature and has anti-pediculosis properties.
The shampoo contains the insecticide permethrin, which is an artificial pyrethroid. The substance quickly gets into the parasites' nervous system. It is a contact poison for many arthropods, repolarizing the walls of nerve cells, and at the same time affects their nervous system, leading to paralysis and death of the parasites. The effect of the drug begins very quickly, and due to the long-term preservation of the drug on the hair, the likelihood of re-infection is prevented.

Pharmacodynamics
The drug passes through the chitin barrier without complications, reaching high values inside the parasite's body, and at the same time irreversibly slows down the enzyme cholinesterase, creating a covalent bond with it. Nits with lice die due to self-intoxication with acetylcholine.
Pharmacokinetics
After local use, less than 2% of the applied permethrin is absorbed, which is why its overall toxicity remains very low. The effect of the shampoo continues to persist for 0.5-1.5 months after a single treatment.
Dosing and administration
The shampoo should be applied to wet hair - rub it into the scalp for 3 minutes, then rinse the hair thoroughly under running warm water and repeat this procedure again. Then comb the hair using a special comb.
If necessary, the treatment procedure can be repeated after 7 days. To prevent relapse of pediculosis, all inhabitants of the house should be treated with shampoo.
