Peidolax is a laxative medicine containing the component glycerin. The medicine is used to treat constipation; it quickly and effectively has a laxative effect. The medicinal liquid helps not only in the case of a single constipation, but also in regularly recurring disorders.
After using the medicine, the result often occurs after 30-50 minutes. This remedy is used only for treating children aged 2-12 years.
Indications Peidolax
It is used for the purpose of local relief of symptoms of episodic and short-term constipation.
Release form
The drug is released in the form of a rectal solution, in applicators with a capacity of 3.28/4 ml, as well as 4 ml. There are 4 such applicators in a pack.
Pharmacodynamics
The active ingredient of the medicine is glycerin, which causes a laxative effect when used rectally. This happens due to its ability to lubricate feces, as well as help in the entry of liquid into them. At the same time, the component stimulates the processes of intestinal contraction.
Pharmacokinetics
Glycerin causes the process of defecation – after a minimum of 15-30/maximum 60 minutes from the moment of using the micro enema.
Dosing and administration
Unless otherwise advised by your doctor, please follow these instructions.
Glycerin microenemas can only be administered to children rectally.
For children 2-12 years of age, the dose is 1 applicator per day.
Children with liver or kidney failure do not need dosage adjustments.
If the effect of Peidolax is too weak or, on the contrary, too strong, you should consult your doctor.
The medication must be used for a maximum of 7 days. Longer periods can only be prescribed by a medical specialist.

Use Peidolax during pregnancy
The medication is not used during breastfeeding or pregnancy, because it is intended for children.
Contraindications
Main contraindications:
- severe intolerance to glycerin;
- nausea, abdominal colic, vomiting or other signs of appendicitis;
- hemorrhagic rectocolitis;
- diarrhea;
- anorectal diseases;
- ulcerative colitis and inflammatory conditions of a hemorrhoidal nature;
- pain in the abdominal area;
- intestinal obstruction;
- inflammations affecting the intestines and having an acute form.
Side effects Peidolax
Local discomfort, pain and irritation or itching in the anal area may develop. If any side effects occur, consult a doctor. In addition, signs of intolerance may occur.
Overdose
With prolonged or excessive use of the drug, IBS (diarrhea or constipation) may develop. Therefore, during a long therapeutic course, Peidolax is used very carefully and under the supervision of a doctor.
In case of poisoning or accidental ingestion of the medicine, an ambulance must be called. Doctors must be informed of the amount of solution taken.
Storage conditions
Peidolax should be stored in a place closed to small children. Temperature values are a maximum of 25°C.
Shelf life
Peidolax is allowed to be used for a period of 36 months from the date of release of the drug.
Application for children
Not for use in children under 2 years of age or over 12 years of age.
