Fitodent is included in the category of drugs prescribed for local dental use. The drug has an analgesic, fungicidal, anti-inflammatory and disinfectant effect, and at the same time is well absorbed inside the periodontium and oral mucosa.

The drug helps to speed up the healing process of various injuries to the oral mucosa, and in addition, it reduces the severity of developing pain and reduces swelling in the mucosa. [ 1 ]

It is used for local elimination of inflammation in the oral mucosa:

In the form of gargles, it is prescribed in cases of infectious inflammations in the mucous membranes of the larynx and pharynx.

Release form

The medicine is released in the form of a tincture - inside jars or bottles with a capacity of 0.1 l. Inside the box - 1 such jar or bottle.

Pharmacodynamics

Flavonoids and tannins contained in the composition of the drug have a hemostatic, wound-healing and general strengthening effect. The analgesic effect is provided by the presence of physiologically active components from the composition of Sophora with chamomile and celandine.

Fitodent has good absorption inside the oral mucosa and periodontium. The medicinal effect is observed by the 3rd-7th day of therapy (taking into account the nature of the pathology).

Dosing and administration

The medicine should be diluted with water in different proportions (1:1 or 1:2 (medicine/water ratio) or 1 teaspoon of the substance per ¼ glass of water, taking into account personal tolerance) and used for washing, irrigation and rinsing procedures (3-5 times a day; the procedure lasts 5 minutes), and in addition for mouth baths (3-5 times a day; the procedure lasts 2-3 minutes).

Therapy for periodontal diseases is carried out by introducing drugs into the interdental space and gum pockets - for this, turundas are used, previously soaked in a solution of the drug (the drug must be diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 1). The procedure should be carried out 1-2 times a day - for 15-20 minutes.

Applications are also performed using Fitodent liquid diluted in water (1 to 1) – 2-3 times per day; the procedures last 15-20 minutes.

The duration of the therapeutic cycle is selected by the doctor, taking into account the nature of the disease. Often it lasts 12-14 days.

The medication is prohibited for use in persons under 12 years of age.

Use Phytodent during pregnancy

The medicine is allowed to be used during breastfeeding or pregnancy.

Contraindications

Contraindicated for use in cases of severe intolerance to the components of the drug.

Side effects Phytodent

In case of severe sensitivity to the drug components, signs of allergy may be observed, including redness, epidermal itching, Quincke's edema and rashes.

Overdose

Using undiluted solution may cause a burning sensation.

Interactions with other drugs

The drug potentiates the therapeutic effect of painkillers and anti-inflammatory substances.

Storage conditions

Fitodent should be stored in a place closed to small children. Temperature indicators - no more than 25 ° C.

Shelf life

Fitodent can be used for a period of 24 months from the date of manufacture of the therapeutic product.

The analogs of the drug are the substances Kamident, Sage and Parapasta with oak bark, and also Anginofit, Tantum and Salvin with Fitosept.
