Phytodent belongs to the category of drugs prescribed for local dental use. The drug has anesthetic, fungicidal, anti-inflammatory and disinfecting effect, and at the same time is well absorbed inside the periodontium and oral mucosa.

The drug helps to speed up the healing processes of various injuries of the oral mucosa, and in addition, it weakens the severity of developing pain and reduces edema in the mucous membrane. [1]

It is used for the local elimination of inflammation in the area of the oral mucosa:

  • catarrhal stomatitis ;
  • aphthous form of stomatitis (recurrent type of chronic nature);
  • localized form of periodontitis (in active or chronic phase) of the 1st degree;
  • catarrhal form of gingivitis.

In the form of rinsing, it is prescribed in the case of infectious inflammation in the mucous membranes of the larynx and pharynx.

Release form

The drug is released in the form of a tincture - inside cans or bottles with a capacity of 0.1 liters. Inside the box - 1 such jar or bottle.

Pharmacodynamics

Flavonoids and tannins, which are contained in the composition of drugs, have a hemostatic, wound healing and restorative effect. The analgesic effect is provided by the presence of physiologically active components from the composition of Sophora with chamomile and celandine.

Phytodent has good absorption inside the oral mucosa and periodontium. The drug effect is observed by the 3rd-7th day of therapy (taking into account the nature of the pathology).

Dosing and administration

The medication must be diluted with water in different proportions (1k1 or 1k2 (drug / water ratio) or 1 teaspoon of the substance per ¼ glass of water, taking into account personal tolerance) and used for rinsing, irrigation and rinsing procedures (3-5 times a day; the procedure lasts 5 minutes), and in addition, for oral baths (3-5 times per day; the procedure lasts 2-3 minutes).

Therapy of periodontal diseases is carried out through the introduction of drugs into the interdental space and gingival pockets - for this, turundas are used, previously soaked in a solution of the drug (the medicine must be diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 1). The procedure should be carried out 1-2 times a day - for 15-20 minutes.

Applications are also performed using Fitodent's liquid diluted in water (1k1) - 2-3 times a day; procedures last 15-20 minutes.

The duration of the therapeutic cycle is selected by the doctor, taking into account the nature of the disease. It often lasts 12-14 days.

The medication is prohibited from prescribing to persons under 12 years of age.

Use Phytodent during pregnancy

The medicine is allowed to be used for HB or pregnancy.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated to use with severe intolerance to the elements of the drug.
