Pharmacodynamics
The active element of the drug D-panthenol is a provitamin that penetrates the skin cells, where it is converted to pantothenate (a component of coenzyme A). He is a direct participant in the processes of binding of materials that form new cells.
Dexpanthenol stimulates healing processes, and besides it regulates energy metabolism inside epithelial cells. The substance has a positive effect on the binding of mucopolysaccharides, as well as fatty acids (these elements are important parts of connective tissues). This, in turn, accelerates the healing of the skin and complicated wound surfaces.
An important property of the drug is its antibacterial and antimycotic activity, provided by an antiseptic substance - miramistin. Most pathogenic microbes that infect wound surfaces do not have a high resistance to this element. The antimicrobial effect of miramistin promotes the healing of infectious processes within the wound and complements the action of the D-panthenol element.
The combined agent has an epithelial, antibacterial, wound-healing, and fungicidal effect.
Pharmacokinetics
Dosing and administration
Use the gel must be done locally.
When used after surgical procedures, a thin layer should be treated with a wound, and then a bandage of gauze is applied on top.
In dermatology, the drug is used 2-3 times / day. At the same time it is allowed to abandon the use of bandages.
In gynecology - it is necessary to impregnate the gel with a tampon of gauze, then insert it into the vagina.
In pediatrics for the treatment of skin lesions in newborns, the use of the gel is allowed from the first days of the child's life. The treatment should be performed during each shift to the infant of the diaper. The duration of the course is determined by the degree of severity of the symptoms of the disease.
In dentistry - treating Pantestine diseases affecting the oral cavity, is allowed only adults. After performing hygienic procedures, it is necessary to apply a thin layer of the drug to the affected area of the oral mucosa. The procedure should be carried out 2-3 times / day. During the next 1 hour after the procedure is prohibited. During the treatment of a prosthetic form of stomatitis, insert the denture immediately after the mouth is processed with gel. Treatment should last for 10 days.

- Applications in the field of tympanic membranes with their perforation.
Side effects of the pantestine
Among the side effects of the gel is a rare development of allergy symptoms. When performing applications in the area of burns or wounds, there is sometimes a slight burning sensation that disappears on its own without requiring the withdrawal of the drug.
If the patient has an irritation on the skin (any degree of severity), and in addition hyperemia, itching, swelling, eczema or a dizzying lesion - one should refrain from using the medication.

Interactions with other drugs
It is forbidden to combine with other antiseptics, because these agents inactivate the effect of miramistin.
Dexpanthenol potentiates the efficacy of muscle relaxants (such as decamethonium bromide or suxamethonium chloride) - due to the fact that it has a stimulating effect on the binding of acetylcholine.
The combined use of a drug with soap solutions inactivates the properties of miramistin. When combined with systemic antibiotics, the resistance of microbes to antibiotics decreases.

Storage conditions
Pantestine should be kept in a place that is closed from penetration of moisture. The gel should not be frozen. The temperature is a maximum of 25 ° C.

Reviews
Panthextene has a wound-healing effect, so it is used to treat wounds (at the 2-3rd stage of their development). The gel protects the wound or burn surface from the possibility of entering a secondary infection, and in addition activates metabolic processes and stimulates the process of blood supply to the tissues and wound healing (under the action of dexpanthenol).
Miramistin is a powerful antiseptic and affects fungi with bacteria, often penetrating the wound and infecting it.
This composition allows you to replace several individual drugs with different types of therapeutic effects. Potentiation of the therapeutic effect of the gel is facilitated by its special synthetic base, which helps active substances penetrate deep into tissues and prolongs the period of action of drugs. An important property of dexpanthenol is its ability to prevent contraction of the skin at the edges of the wound, thereby preventing the risk of formation of coarse scars.
Thanks to these characteristics, the drug receives a lot of positive feedback.
Shelf life
Pantestine can be used for 2 years from the date of release of the drug.
