Maurer's Balsam demonstrates a therapeutic effect on digestive function and metabolic processes.

The pure bitters contained in the medicine (this includes the herb of wolfberry, bitter wormwood and centaury, as well as the root of yellow bitterling), as well as aromatic bitters (including the root of zedoaria and angelica officinalis, the fruits of Laurus nobilis and aromatic syzygium) stabilize the work of the digestive system, and in addition, slowly increase the secretion of gastric juice.

Pharmacodynamics

After use, the balm is absorbed immediately inside the stomach. The medicine is absorbed by the body very quickly. The complexity and wide range of activity of the balm in relation to systems and organs is associated with the specific selection of its elements.

The spasmolytic effect develops under the influence of natural regulators of the activity of t-cholinergic receptors with α-adrenoreceptors. Among them are the herb of garden marjoram, galangal root, myrrh and coriander fruits.

The mild laxative effect is provided by the activity of manna, which is an osmotic diuretic.

The action of essential oils (powder of aromatic syzygium, myrrh, chamomile flowers), as well as tanning elements (bark of Canella alba and manna) is combined with the immunomodulatory activity of leaf buds of black poplar. As a result, an anti-inflammatory effect develops.

Flavonoids, including iris root, weaken the effects of choline acetylase and hyaluronidase, and at the same time have antibacterial properties.

The tonic effect on the central nervous system, which helps to eliminate fatigue and depression or prevent them, is developed due to the active influence of rosemary leaves and aromatic buds of sygyzium.

Camphor exhibits a direct stimulating effect on the respiratory medulla.
