Pharmacodynamics
Zeaxanthin and lutein are carotenoids and are located inside the macula lutea of the retina. The effect of these elements develops due to their strong antioxidant activity and ability to filter some parts of the light spectrum. After taking the drug, their level inside the eye tissue increases, thereby stabilizing the work of the visual apparatus and the function of night vision. The substance also prevents the development of age-related processes of visual function disorder and vision loss.
A very important element in the processes of formation of rhodopsin (a pigment that helps the eyes adapt to weak and poor lighting) is β-carotene.
Ascorbic acid inside the medicine interacts with tocopherol (antioxidant), which prevents tissue damage under the influence of free radicals. This component is necessary for maintaining visual activity.
Zinc and copper are catalysts for the activity of metalloenzymes, and in addition, prevent the formation of free radicals.
Dosing and administration
The medicine should be taken with food or immediately after taking it. In this case, you should eat dishes that contain vegetable fats.
One tablet of Optix should be taken per day; the course lasts quite a long time – approximately 2-3 months. If there is no lasting result, you should consult an ophthalmologist.
