Omitox is a medicine with antiulcer properties.

Indications Omitox

It is used to treat the following disorders:

• various forms of peptic ulcer disease;
• gastrinoma ;
• disorders caused by the use of drugs NVS;
• GERD;
• lesions caused by the activity of the microbe Helicobacter pylori.

In addition, the medication is used to prevent the development of gastric pathologies.

Release form

The drug is released in the form of capsules having a volume of 10 or 20 mg. Inside the box there are 30 such capsules.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug slows the activity of the enzyme H ⁺ K ⁺ -ATPase inside the gastric parietal glandulocytes, resulting in blocking the final phase of binding of hydrochloric acid. As a result, the indices of stimulated and basal secretion processes decrease (it does not matter what the nature of the bacterium-stimulus is).

When 1-time use of the drug (orally), omeprazole begins to act after 60 minutes, and its effect lasts for 24 hours. The peak of effectiveness is noted after 2 hours from the moment of reception.

After stopping the use of drugs, excretory activity is fully restored after 3-5 days.

Pharmacokinetics

Omotox at high speed is absorbed from the digestive tract, reaching the level of plasma Cmax after 30-60 minutes. The bioavailability values are within 30-40%.

The parameters of protein synthesis are 90%. Almost all omeprazole undergoes metabolic processes inside the liver.

The excretion of the substance takes place in the form of metabolic products - mainly through the kidneys.

Dosing and administration

The selection of a suitable medicinal portion is handled exclusively by a medical specialist. Capsules are swallowed whole, washed down with plain water.

During treatment of exacerbated intestinal ulcer, the medication is used in a dose of 20 mg with a single dose per day. The therapy lasts 14 days, but if necessary, the course can be extended for another 14 days.

In the treatment of exacerbated gastric ulcer or defeat of the esophagus, which has an inflammatory character, the drug is taken at 20 mg per day, and this cycle lasts for the first month.

In the case of development of lesions caused by the use of NVS, treatment with the intake of 20 mg of substance per day also continues throughout the first month.

To get rid of the H. Pylori microbe, the medication is taken in a dose of 40 mg per day, for 7 days. Assign Omitox is necessary in combination with antibacterial drugs.

To prevent the occurrence of an ulcer, the medication is used in a dose of 10 mg per day. When preventing the development of GERD, the drug is prescribed at a dose of 20 mg per day. The treatment cycle in such cases is 0.5 years.

In the treatment of gastrinoma, a portion is selected for each patient separately, but the course begins with a dosage of 60 mg. If necessary, increase it to 120 mg. Take this portion follows 2 uses.

Persons who have been diagnosed with a disorder of liver activity, can be administered a maximum of 20 mg of the substance per day.

Use Omitox during pregnancy

In pregnancy, take Omitoks is prohibited. If you can not refuse such treatment, you need to use some safer means-analogue.

Also, you should not take medicine and breast-feeding mothers. If the use of a medicine is absolutely necessary, and the use of analogues is impossible, it is required to refuse breastfeeding for the duration of therapy.

Contraindications

Side effects Omitox

Taking capsules can cause side effects. Among them are:

• vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain and nausea, and in addition taste taste, stomatitis, dryness of the oral mucosa and bloating. There is also jaundice and a disorder in the liver;

• bronchial spasms, swelling, urticaria, nephritis and anaphylaxis;
• alopecia, photosensitivity, erythema and pruritus;
• gynecomastia, hyperhidrosis, visual disturbance, cyst formation due to prolonged therapy, and systemic ailments.

Doctors say that negative symptoms occur only sporadically and are transient.

Overdose

Absorption of ampicillin, ketoconazole and iron drugs slows down when combined with a medication.

Omitox should be kept in a dry and dark place, closed from penetration of small children.

Shelf life

Omotox can be used within 36 months from the date of release of the therapeutic agent.

Application for children

You can not prescribe medicine in pediatrics.

Analogues

Analogues of the drug are such drugs as Losek, Omeprazol, Gastrozole, Omega with Omeprazol-Stade and Omeprazol-Richter, and Losek-Mags (these drugs are considered the most effective). Analogues like Ortanol and Cisagast with Ultop are of lesser efficacy.

Reviews

Omytox usually receives positive feedback from patients. Many note its high therapeutic effectiveness.

Out of the advantages of the medication, a high rate of exposure is recognized - a marked improvement in the condition is noted after the first application. The cost of the medicine is also included in the positive aspects - it is rather low.

But there are also comments, which talk about the drawbacks of the drug. They basically indicate that some patients developed side effects that were of severe severity.
