Indications Omiks
It is used in the symptomatic treatment of prostatic hyperplasia, which has a benign character.
Release form
Release of the substance is made in capsules, 10 pieces packed in a blister plate. The box contains 1 or 3 such plates.
Pharmacodynamics
The drug blocks the activity of postsynaptic α1A-adrenergic receptors, which are an integral part of the smooth muscles of the prostate, the neck of the ureter, and also the prostatic area of the urethra.
Along with this, the drug reduces smooth muscle tone and helps the processes of urination. It also prevents the development of signs of irritation and obstruction associated with prostate hyperplasia (benign).
The drug effect acquires a strong severity after 14 days from the start of drug use.
Pharmacokinetics
The substance used is absorbed almost completely and at high speed inside the gastrointestinal tract. The bioavailability values are approximately 100%. Plasma Cmax values of the substance are noted after 6 hours from the time of 1-fold intake of 400 μg of the drug.
With constant use of the drug, Cmax values are 60-70% higher than in the case of 1-fold use. The degree of protein synthesis is 99%. Most of the component of tamsulosin resides inside the blood in an unchanged state.
Omix excretion is performed by the kidneys - by 91%. The remainder is excreted unchanged. The half-life after one-time use is equal to 10 hours.
Dosing and administration
Use the medication orally after a morning meal (breakfast). In this case, the capsules are not chewed, but swallowed, washed down with plain water. For a day, take 1 capsule of the medicine.
The duration of the therapeutic cycle is selected separately for each patient. This takes into account the degree of severity of the patient's pathology.
Contraindications
The main contraindications:
- presence of severe intolerance with regard to elements of drugs;
- insufficiency of renal or hepatic activity in a pronounced form;
- an orthostatic collapse in the anamnesis.
Side effects Omiks

Overdose

Interactions with other drugs
When combining the drug with cimetidine, an increase in plasma indices of Omiks can occur, while simultaneous application with furosemide leads to their decrease. In these cases, there is no need to adjust the medicinal portions.
The rate of elimination of the active element of the drug may increase when combined with diclofenac or anticoagulants of indirect influence.
Together with this, with the combination of the drug with other α1A-adrenergic receptors, it is possible to develop a pronounced antihypertensive effect.
Storage conditions
Omiks should be kept in a dark and dry place, closed from penetration of children. Temperature values are within the limits of 15-25 ° C.
Shelf life
Omiks can be used within 36 months after the manufacture of the therapeutic drug.
Application for children
Use of the medicine in pediatrics is prohibited (until the age of 18).
