Omix is a drug for the treatment of urological pathologies.

Indications Omixa
It is used in the symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Release form
The substance is released in capsules, 10 pieces each, packed in a blister plate. The box contains 1 or 3 such plates.
Pharmacodynamics
The drug blocks the activity of postsynaptic α1A-adrenoreceptors, which are part of the smooth muscles of the prostate, bladder neck, and prostatic region of the urethra.
At the same time, the medicine reduces smooth muscle tone and helps the urination process. It also prevents the development of signs of irritation and obstruction associated with prostate hyperplasia (benign).
The medicinal effect becomes more pronounced after 14 days from the start of using the drug.
Pharmacokinetics
The substance used is absorbed almost completely and at high speed inside the gastrointestinal tract. Bioavailability values are approximately 100%. Plasma Cmax values of the substance are noted after 6 hours from the moment of a single dose of 400 mcg of the drug.
With continuous use of the drug, the Cmax values are 60-70% higher than in the case of a single use. The degree of protein synthesis is 99%. Most of the tamsulosin component remains unchanged in the blood.
Omix is excreted by the kidneys – 91%. The remainder is excreted unchanged. The half-life after 1-time use is 10 hours.
Dosing and administration
The medication should be taken orally, after the morning meal (breakfast). The capsules should not be chewed, but swallowed with plain water. One capsule of the medication should be taken per day.
The duration of the therapeutic cycle is selected individually for each patient. The degree of severity of the pathology in the patient is taken into account.
Contraindications
Main contraindications:
- the presence of severe intolerance to the components of the drug;
- severe renal or hepatic insufficiency;
- history of orthostatic collapse.
Side effects Omixa
Taking capsules may cause itching, headaches, rashes on the epidermis, asthenia and Quincke's edema.
In addition, orthostatic collapse, constipation, dizziness, nausea, palpitations, vomiting, diarrhea and retrograde ejaculation occasionally develop.
If the patient experiences any side effects, it is necessary to immediately seek help from a specialist.

Overdose
Intoxication with Omix may provoke the development of acute hypotension.
In this case, it is necessary to lay the victim horizontally and raise his legs. If there is no result, he is given volume-replacing substances or vasoconstrictor drugs. Sometimes gastric lavage is performed and activated carbon with osmotic laxatives is prescribed.

Interactions with other drugs
When combining the drug with cimetidine, an increase in plasma Omix parameters may occur, while simultaneous use with furosemide leads to a decrease in them. In these cases, there is no need to adjust the dosage.
The rate of elimination processes of the active element of the drug may increase when combined with diclofenac or indirect anticoagulants.
At the same time, when combining the drug with other α1A-adrenoreceptors, a pronounced antihypertensive effect may develop.
Storage conditions
Omix must be kept in a dark and dry place, out of reach of children. Temperature values are within the range of 15-25°C.
Shelf life
Omix can be used within 36 months from the date of manufacture of the therapeutic drug.
Application for children
The use of the medicine in pediatrics is prohibited (under 18 years of age).
Analogues
The following drugs are analogs of the medication: Adenorm, Tamsulostad, Taniz with Omnic and Tamsulide, and also Omnic Okas, Ranoprost and Fokusin with Flosin.
Reviews
Omix demonstrates high therapeutic efficiency, based on the reviews of patients who have used it. At the same time, it is noted that it has a minimal number of negative manifestations, and their severity is such that for their disappearance, only a short-term cancellation of the drug is enough.
