Pharmacodynamics

The gel is used externally. The active ingredient penetrates through the skin and cumulates inside the tissues at the treatment site. During treatment of inflammations, the drug has analgesic effect, reduces the degree of swelling, eliminates the inflammatory process, accelerates healing and cools the skin.

The patch is a remedy with prolonged exposure (maximum 12 hours). Thanks to its innovative form, it evenly distributes the drug component (diclofenac substance) in the area of the skin where it was applied. Like the gel form, the medicine penetrates the skin inside the tissues, relieves pain, relieves inflammation with swelling. Along with this, the preparation has a cooling effect, which is very important with pain in the back and joint area, as well as with stretches and bruises.

Other dosage forms also have analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties. They have a positive effect in severe pain, having an inflammatory origin.

Pharmacokinetics

After the application of the gel, the active component of the drug penetrates into the synovium synovium and also into the blood plasma.

With plasma protein, the drug is synthesized almost 100%. The half-life of the substance from the plasma is 1-2 hours.

Dosing and administration

The drug is in gel form.

The amount of gel used depends on the size of the area on which it needs to be applied. Basically, about 2-4 g of gel (approximately 1-2 cm) is required for a skin area of 400-800 cm ². The medicine needs to be applied 3-4 times / day, they need to treat the affected area, while not rubbing into the skin. A maximum of 15 g of gel can be used per day. Drug in the form of a solution.

The solution is injected into the body by infusion. A day is allowed to enter no more than 150 mg of drugs. Before the introduction procedure, it is necessary to dilute the drug using a saline solution (0.9%) or a solution of d-glucose (5%) - approximately 100-500 ml is needed. Before dilution, a solution of sodium bicarbonate is added to the drug: 1 ml (using 4.2% form) or 0.5 ml (when using the form 8.4%). Given the strength of the expression of pain, infusion is required within 0.5-3 hours.

To eliminate the pain that arises after surgical operations, it is necessary to administer the solution in a dose of 25-50 mg for 15-60 minutes. Further infusion should be carried out at a speed of 5 mg / h, until the maximum daily value is reached (150 mg).

Can also be used in / m the introduction of drugs (one time at a rate of 150 mg) - with acute forms of the disease or in order to prevent exacerbation of the chronic stage of the pathology. Further, the therapy is carried out using oral forms of the drug substance. The size of the maximum daily dose remains the same - 150 mg.

Use of the olfena during pregnancy

The medicine is allowed to apply on the 1st and 2nd trimesters (with the permission of the attending doctor), if the possible benefit for a woman is more likely than the risk of complications in the fetus. In pregnancy, Olfen should be used in the least effective portions and for a short period of time. It is forbidden to apply the medicine on the 3rd trimester.

Contraindications

Combination with diuretic drugs (potassium-sparing) increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
