Dr. Theiss Arnica Ointment is an external protective and softening agent with a combined effect on tissues.
Indications Arnica ointment Dr. Theiss
Dr. Theiss's Arnica Ointment can be used for pyoderma, traumatic and burn injuries, all kinds of dermatitis, and also to relieve discomfort from insect bites.
The main indications include:
- soft tissue damage, sprains;
- excessive physical exertion;
- dermatitis;
- pustular skin diseases;
- pain in muscles and joints associated with physical activity;
- superficial burns (for example, from sunburn);
- joint diseases;
- hemorrhages (superficial and intramuscular);
- hematomas.
In addition, Arnica ointment can be used as a means for sports massage.

Release form
Arnica Dr. Theiss ointment is produced in 20 and 50 g packaging, in jars. You can also buy the preparation in gel form in a 100 ml tube.
The drug is produced by the German pharmaceutical company Theiss GmbH.
Dr. Theiss Arnica Ointment has a yellowish tint and a characteristic aroma. The ointment contains the active ingredient arnica tincture (0.5 g per 10 g of the preparation).
Pharmacodynamics
The active substance contained in the Arnica plant, and the main medicinal component, is considered to be the coloring pigment faradiol, which, when applied to the skin, provides a local irritant and resorption effect.
Under the influence of another plant component, arnicin, blood vessels expand, tissue nutrition improves, and hemostatic properties are manifested.
Thus, Arnica Dr. Theiss ointment has the following properties:
- relieves signs of inflammation;
- reduces the permeability of the vascular walls, eliminating swelling;
- eliminates painful sensations;
- protects vascular walls from damage;
- promotes soft tissue regeneration;
- has a restorative effect on synovial, serous and mucous tissue.
Dosing and administration
To date, doctors have no information about the possibility of an overdose of Arnica ointment, since such cases have not yet been registered. Arnica ointment Dr. Theiss can be used up to 3 times a day, lightly rubbing into the skin surface. Arnica ointment can be applied under a gauze compress - this type of treatment is especially effective before bedtime.
There is no limit to the duration of use of Arnica ointment: it is used as needed.
Use Arnica ointment Dr. Theiss during pregnancy
A medication such as Dr. Theiss Arnica Ointment is not recommended for use during all trimesters of pregnancy, since the kinetic characteristics of this drug are unknown, and specialists have not conducted the relevant studies.
If there is an urgent need to use this ointment, you must first consult with the doctor who is monitoring the pregnancy process.
Contraindications
It is not recommended to use Arnica Dr. Theiss ointment:
- for the treatment of patients with an increased risk of allergy to the drug;
- in case of external damage to the skin;
- for the treatment of skin pathologies that are accompanied by oozing;
- in children under 12 years of age;
- during periods of pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Dr. Theiss Arnica Ointment rarely causes negative side effects. Rarely, an allergy (or pseudo-allergy) to individual components of the ointment may develop, which manifests itself in the form of itchy skin rashes.
Long-term treatment with Arnica ointment may cause the development of vesicular dermatitis.

To date, doctors have no information about the possibility of an overdose of Arnica ointment, since such cases have not yet been registered.

Shelf life
