Odeston relieves the patient of cholestasis, not allowing crystallization of cholesterol. As a result of the use of the drug, the amount of bile secreted by the body increases, in which the concentration of cholesterol along with acids increases. As a result, activation of lipase in the pancreas occurs, which subsequently leads to more efficient resorption of fats.

Interactions with other drugs

Odeston helps to increase the effectiveness of antithrombotic drugs, which are antagonists of phylloquinone. In combination with morphine, the spasmolytic effect of gimecromone decreases, because morphine has a strong spasmodic effect on the sphincter of Oddi. If you take the drug in conjunction with metoclopramide or any of its derivatives, the effectiveness of both drugs decreases.
