Pharmacodynamics
After local treatment, an analgesic effect develops, smooth muscle tone decreases, blood vessels expand, and in addition, rheological parameters of the blood increase. Along with this, stabilization of LPO processes and improvement of blood coagulation properties occur.
The medicine promotes the emergence of an anti-inflammatory healing effect in relation to the signs of skin diseases. In addition, the regression of psoriasis manifestations begins, the area of the affected areas decreases, as well as the intensity of clinical symptoms.
At the same time, Naphthalan ointment has an immunocorrective effect, provides support in the process of restoring the locomotor function of the musculoskeletal system and helps improve the microcirculatory processes occurring within the joint tissues.
The drug also has a biostimulating and desensitizing effect.
Dosing and administration
The ointment should be used to treat damaged areas, and in addition to this, it can be used together with tampons or for local baths, and in combination with UV radiation, ultrasound, a special Sollux lamp, as well as with electromagnetic radiation of the decimeter spectrum.
Different disorders require different therapeutic approaches and methods of using drugs. For example, to eliminate osteochondrosis, the affected area should be treated with ointment and then heated with a lamp. Such procedures should be performed daily for half an hour. The entire course of therapy consists of 10-12 such sessions.
During the treatment of periarthritis of the shoulder-scapular nature, the affected areas are treated with heated ointment, and then carefully wrapped. Such procedures are carried out daily, with warming for 20 minutes. The treatment consists of 10-15 therapeutic sessions. In addition, the patient may be prescribed concomitant therapy using additional equipment.
The same method is used for therapy in the following cases:
- lesions in the area of peripheral nerves that are traumatic in nature;
- osteoarthritis of a deforming nature;
- vascular atherosclerosis in the legs;
- obliterating form of endarteritis;
- thrombophlebitis of a chronic nature;
- chronic venous insufficiency;
- skin pathologies and other disorders.
When using Naftalan ointment to eliminate trophic ulcers or burns, it is necessary to pre-treat the affected area with alcohol, remove necrotic areas, and only then apply the preparation. Then the treated area is heated with a lamp - the procedure lasts 20 minutes (the treatment area must remain open). Such sessions should be performed 2-3 times a day for a period of 2-4 weeks.
When eliminating internal hemorrhoids, a specific nozzle is used, thanks to which the ointment is introduced deeper. When treating external hemorrhoids, a small strip of ointment is applied to the sore or itchy area. This procedure should be carried out twice a day (it is recommended to do this in the morning, and also in the evening), for a period of 12-15 days.

Reviews
Naftalan ointment is often used by people who suffer from eczema, psoriasis and various forms of dermatitis. Most of them respond positively to the medicine. Usually, such discussions involve people who have suffered from these disorders for many years and who previously used various lotions, decoctions, ointments, and baths that brought relief only for a short time. But Naftalan ointment in combination with ultrasound contributed to a noticeable improvement: a decrease in the size of psoriasis plaques, relief from itching, and, in addition, normalization of the epidermis condition were noted.
At the same time, this drug can help heal various injuries and wounds, remove inflammation and dry the skin. It is often used to treat acne. Improvement is noted after 1-2 procedures - the skin is cleansed, enlarged pores are tightened, and redness disappears.
During therapy for dermatitis, a large set of procedures is performed, which includes the use of an ointment that helps improve the condition of the epidermis. It is also important to perform additional measures and take certain medications, as well as adherence to a dietary regimen. All medications are used according to an individual regimen and in portions prescribed by a doctor. Because of this, before using drugs, you must consult a doctor.
