Mezim forte is a polyenzyme medication.
Indications Mezima forte
It is used together with poorly digestible, unusual, as well as fatty and vegetable food. It is also used for bloating, which occurs due to the above-described disorders.
Release form
The pharmaceutical substance is produced in tablets - 10 or 20 pieces inside a cell package.
Pharmacodynamics
Pancreatin (powder extracted from the pancreas) includes excretory enzymes of the pancreas - amylase with lipase, and in addition chymotrypsin with trypsin. They participate in the processes of digestion of carbohydrates with fats, as well as proteins.
Such powder is not absorbed inside the gastrointestinal tract, it is excreted with feces, and the main part of the substance is denatured and split inside the digestive tract under the influence of bacteria with digestive juices. The main factor of effectiveness is the enzymatic activity of lipase, and along with this, the activity of trypsin. At the same time, the amylolytic effect is significant only during the treatment of cystic fibrosis, because even in the case of a chronic type of pancreatitis, the processes of splitting food polysaccharides occur without disorders.
The tablet coating does not have enteric properties. At gastric pH values of less than 4, lipolytic activity is inactivated.
Dosing and administration
The drug should be taken in a dosage of 1-2 tablets, with food. The tablets are not chewed, but washed down with plain water (1 glass is enough). Depending on the type of food used, you can additionally take 2-4 tablets of the drug.
The serving size of Mezim forte can be changed and selected individually.
The duration of the therapeutic cycle is selected by the attending physician, individually for each patient.
