Indications Mebendazole

It is used to eliminate diseases such as enterobiasis with gnathostomiasis, ancylostomiasis with trichuriasis, ascariasis with alveococcosis, angvilliosis with capillariasis, as well as mixed-type helminthiasis, echinococcosis, trichinosis, multiple nematodes and teniasis.

Pharmacodynamics

The mechanism of action of the drug is based on the irreversible disorder of glucose removal processes, which causes depletion of glycogen content inside the parasite's body. In addition, the drug slows down the binding of tubulin inside cells and the process of synthesis of ATP elements.

Pharmacokinetics

Dosing and administration

Mebendazole tablets should be taken orally with plain water.

For enterobiasis: a single dose of 100 mg should be taken. If there is a high risk of secondary invasion, an additional 100 mg should be taken after 2-4 weeks. Also, all persons who have been in contact with the patient at this time should undergo a course of treatment.

For teniasis, mixed types of helminthiasis, ascariasis with scabies and anguillulosis with trichuriasis, take a dosage of 100 mg twice a day (morning and evening) for a period of 3 days.

Use Mebendazole during pregnancy
