This drug is prescribed in cases of lack of magnesium and vitamin B6, which can occur when eating disorders (due to diets), chronic alcoholism, due to prolonged stress and excessive physical and mental stress, with prolonged use of diuretics, during pregnancy.
Presence of deficiency of magnesium and vitamin B6 can be manifested: increased fatigue and irritability; depression and sleep disorders; violation of blood circulation and increased heart rate; spasms of the digestive tract and constipation; muscle weakness, myalgia, paresthesias and spasms of skeletal muscles; pain in the joints.
Clinical practice shows the effectiveness of Magne-B6 + in the complex therapy of heart failure, angina pectoris, atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, depression.

Pharmacodynamics
Magnesium is an intracellular cation; up to 65% of its reserves are in bones, about 30% in other tissues, the rest in extracellular fluid. A third of magnesium is associated with proteins, and there are at least 700 such proteins in the body.
Magnesium takes an active part in the metabolism, primarily as a co-enzyme for the synthesis of nucleic acids, proteins and energy metabolism. Penetrating through the cell membranes, this microelement promotes the integrity of the cell membranes of tissues of virtually all internal organs of a person, restores the resting potential of the membranes of muscle cells, reduces the degree of neuronal excitability and regulates the transmission of nerve impulses. Magnesium is needed to ensure the norm of platelets in the blood, the synthesis of serotonin, unsaturated fatty acids and porphyrins.
Pyridoxine in Magne-B6 +, when ingested, is converted to the form of coenzyme pyridoxalphosphate, which takes direct and indirect participation in protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism; in the synthesis of red blood cells; in providing sodium-potassium balance in the body's liquid media, as well as in supplying nerve cells with glucose.
Pharmacokinetics
Due to the presence of pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) in the Magne-B6 + preparation, the level of absorption of magnesium lactate dihydrate from the small intestine (up to 45% of the dose) is significantly increased and its penetration into tissue cells and intracellular space is facilitated. In this case, vitamin B6 reduces the excretion of magnesium from the body.
Magnesium exposes glomerular filtration in the kidneys, and almost a third of it is excreted in the urine.
Dosing and administration
Use Magne-B6 + during pregnancy
The use of Magne-B6 + during pregnancy requires the strict recommendation of the attending physician and is prescribed to pregnant women in case of increased uterine tone, muscle cramps on the legs, and also to prevent the development of late toxicosis (pre-eclampsia). Treatment should be carried out under constant medical supervision.
Contraindications
Contraindications to the use of this drug are: medium and severe degree of renal failure, hereditary impaired metabolism of amino acids (phenylketonuria), impaired absorption of glucose or galactose, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, children under 6 years.
Magne-B6 + should be administered with caution in case of calcium deficiency in the body, with diabetes mellitus, gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer.

Overdose
Overdose of this drug is possible only if the patient has impaired renal function. In this case, there is nausea and vomiting, a drop in blood pressure, and difficulty breathing. The probability of coma and cardiac arrest is not excluded. Overdosing is treated by rehydration and forced diuresis, and with kidney dysfunction - hemodialysis.

Interactions with other drugs
When appointing Magne-B6 +, one should keep in mind its interaction with other drugs. It is not recommended to use Magne-B6 together with phosphates and calcium compounds, as this reduces the absorption of magnesium in the gastrointestinal tract.
In turn, magnesium reduces the effect of tetracycline antibiotics, thrombolytics and some drugs against Parkinson's disease.
Pyridoxine, which is part of Magne B6, enhances the action of diuretics and cardiac glycosides.
Shelf life
Shelf life of the drug is 24 months.
