Levosin has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, healing and disinfectant activity.

Indications Levosina

It is used in the treatment of purulent wounds, as well as in the purulent-necrotic phase of the wound process.

Release form

The drug is released in the form of an ointment, in tubes of 40 g. The box contains 1 such tube.

Pharmacodynamics

The medicine has a complex composition and is used only for external treatment. The medicinal effect is provided by the activity of the constituent elements of the ointment. The basis of the medicine is water-soluble polyethyleneglycol.

Chloramphenicol affects the activity of Klebsiella, Yersinia, Staphylococcus with spirochetes, and in addition to this, the action of Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Haemophilus influenzae with meningococci, Proteus with Serratia and Shigella with gonococci.

Sulfadimethoxine acts on intestinal, hemophilic and plague bacilli, as well as on shigella, chlamydia with toxoplasma, cholera vibrio, clostridia, diphtheria corynebacteria and on microbes that cause anthrax.

Methyluracil is an anti-inflammatory substance that also has healing properties.

Trimecaine is a local anesthetic that does not have a toxic effect. It also does not cause irritation.

Polyethylene glycol potentiates the antibacterial activity exerted by the ointment elements.

Dosing and administration

The drug is used exclusively for external local treatment. Gauze napkins should be soaked in the ointment, and then the wound cavity should be filled with them. In addition, the drug can be injected into the purulent wound through a catheter - using a syringe. In this case, the portion of the drug required for administration should be preheated to 35-36 ° C.

The exact regimen for using Levosin depends on the form of the disease being treated. Dressings must be changed daily until the wound is completely cleansed.

Use Levosina during pregnancy
