Lamizil Uno is an antifungal medicine for external application. This drug has a wide range of antimycotic effects.
Indications Lamizil Uno
It is indicated for therapy or as a prophylactic against fungal formations on the skin:
- stop fungal infections, inguinal dermophytia, and in addition to fungal infections on smooth skin that are provoked by trichophyton dermatophytes (such as trichophyton red and T. Mentagrophytes, as well as warty trichophyton and T. Violaceum), as well as Flaky Epidermophyton and Microsporum canis;
- yeast skin infections (usually caused by fungi of the genus Candida - for example, diploid fungus), among which diaper rash.
[1]
Release form
It is available as a 1% solution for external use. One laminated tube with a screw cap (there is a system that controls the time of the first autopsy) contains 4 grams of medication. One package contains 1-well tuba with a solution.

Pharmacodynamics
Terbinafine is an allylamine derivative. In small concentrations, it is able to exert a fungicidal effect on dermatophytes (trichophyton red, T. Violaceum and T. Mentagrophytes, as well as warty trichophyton, cristiformiform trichophyton, Microsporum canis and flaky epidermophyton). It also affects molds (usually diploid fungi), and in addition individual dimorphic fungi (such as Malasseria furfur or yeast fungus). Activity on yeast fungi depends on their type, and is fungicidal or fungistatic.
The active component of the drug is able to specifically influence the initial stages of the sterols in the biosynthesis of fungi, which causes a lack of ergosterol and the process of accumulation of squalene within the cells begins. As a result, fungal cells die.
The active substance acts on pathogenic organisms, suppressing the enzyme squalene epoxidase, located in the fungal plasmalemma. Squalene epoxidase does not bind to the P450 hemoprotein system. Terbinafine does not affect the metabolism of hormones and other drugs.
[3]
Pharmacokinetics
The medicine applied to the skin creates an imperceptible transparent film that persists on the skin for about 72 hours. The active substance quickly passes into the stratum corneum of the epidermis: after 1 hour after the procedure, approximately 16-18% of the drug appears in this layer.
Terbinafine is released by a progressive method. After 13 days, it is in a concentration that exceeds the minimum inhibitory concentration of active substance in vitro relative to dermatophytes.
Indicators of systemic bioavailability of the substance are insignificant. Absorption at local use is less than 5%. The solution has insignificant systemic exposure. The rates of recurrence after 3 months after using the drug are rather low (maximum 12.5%).
Dosing and administration
Use the solution is required externally - for children from 15 years and adults. The medicine is used to eliminate mycosis of the foot (a single application). The solution must be applied once on both soles, even if the fungus is observed only on one. Thus, you guarantee the elimination of fungi located in places where the external manifestations of this lesion may not be noticeable.
Before the procedure, you should thoroughly wash your hands with feet, and after drying them. To process stops follows one by one. The treatment starts from the areas between the fingers-apply a uniform thin layer of mortar between them and the entire circumference of the fingers. Next, treat the sole, and along with it, the sides to a height of about 1.5 cm. To cover the required surface, half the tuba with the drug should suffice - so the whole tube will go to the processing of the two stops.
Next, after 1-2 minutes, dry the solution until a film is formed. After the procedure, you need to wash your hands.
The solution should not be applied repeatedly to the already treated feet, and also rubbed into the skin.
Use Lamizil Uno during pregnancy
Since there is too little information on the use of the drug in pregnant women, it is recommended that it be prescribed only if there are strong indications. Due to the fact that terbinafine is excreted together with breast milk, Lamizil Uno can not be used in lactation.
Contraindications
Among the contraindications - individual intolerance terbinafine or other components of the drug.
Use with caution in the case of renal or hepatic insufficiency, with various tumors, and in addition, with alcoholism, metabolic disorders, suppression of bone marrow hematopoiesis, children under 15 years of age and with occlusive lesions of the vessels of the extremities.
