Pharmacodynamics

Lamicon affects sterol biosynthesis in fungal cells and also inhibits the activity of the enzyme squalene epoxidase in the plasma membrane, thereby promoting the death of pathogenic cells. The drug destroys Candida fungi and organisms that provoke the development of dermatomycosis, as well as versicolor lichen.

Lamicon has fungicidal and fungistatic properties that affect yeast fungi. Fungicidal action destroys dimorphic and mold fungi, as well as dermatophytes. The drug has the greatest effect in destroying mycelial and mold fungi Candida, as well as red trichophyton.

Pharmacokinetics

Lamicon is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, reaching peak concentration in the blood 2 hours after taking the tablet. The half-absorption of the substance occurs after 0.8 hours, and the half-distribution period is 4.6 hours. Plasma protein binding is 100%.

Selective accumulation of the drug in the skin and its appendages occurs. After 24 hours from a single application of 0.25 g of the product, the concentration of the active component in the stratum corneum of the epidermis increases 10 times, and after 12 days this figure increases 70 times. The rate of drug distribution exceeds the rate at which nails grow.

Biotransformation occurs in the liver, in the process inactive decay products are formed. The drug is excreted through the kidneys (about 70%).

Dosing and administration

For adults and children weighing more than 40 kg, the dosage is 1 tablet of the medicine after meals (1 time per day). For children weighing less than 40 kg, the dosage is 0.5 tablets.

For the treatment of onychomycosis, a treatment course lasting 1.5-3 months is prescribed. For fungi of the scalp, soles of the feet, and also hands or body, as well as skin candidiasis, such a course is 0.5-1.5 months.

Lamikon ointment is applied to adults and children aged 12+ 1-2 times a day. Before the procedure, the skin must be thoroughly washed and dried. The affected areas must be treated with the medicine. The duration of the treatment course will depend on the severity of the inflammation, as well as its nature.

The spray is applied externally. Before applying, the skin must be completely cleaned and thoroughly moisturized. After that, you need to spray the LS so that the substance is sufficient to moisturize the inflamed areas.

The course of treatment must be completed, since relapse cannot be ruled out if treatment is terminated prematurely.

Interactions with other drugs

When the drug is combined with β-blockers, the process of biotransformation of terbinafine is suppressed, and its concentration in the blood plasma increases.

Due to the combined use of Lamicon with inhibitors of hemoprotein P450, there is a decrease in the coefficient of purification of terbinafine. This indicator increases when the drug is combined with rifampicin.
