Texamen is a drug with analgesic properties.
Indications Texamena
It is used in people with diseases in the area of musculoskeletal tissues that are degenerative and inflammatory in nature and accompanied by pain:
- gout;
- rheumatoid arthritis;
- osteoarthritis with osteochnodrosis;
- ankylosing spondylitis.
Injections are used to quickly relieve pain that occurs due to:
- damage caused by injuries;
- myositis with tendonitis;
- lesions in the ligament area;
- lumbago, polyarthritis and periarthritis, as well as neuralgia.
Release form
The product is produced in the form of powder with a liquid solvent (in vials), as well as in tablets. The box contains 1 such vial or a blister pack with 10 tablets.
Pharmacodynamics
The active element of the drug is part of the oxicam group and has antipyretic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. The mechanism of action is based on slowing down the processes of PG binding and arachidonic acid metabolism, and also on suppressing the activity of COX.
Texamen L helps to inhibit the processes of histamine release, as well as the rate of phagocytosis, thereby reducing inflammation.
The drug reduces the effect of bradykinin on the endings, inhibits the removal of macroenergetic bundles, normalizes the strength of the walls of lysosomes, and also strengthens the strength of capillaries.
Pharmacokinetics
The active ingredient is completely and rapidly absorbed inside the gastrointestinal tract. The bioavailability level is 100%. Peak values are observed after 2 hours of drug administration. About 99% of the active substance is synthesized with proteins in the plasma.
Metabolic processes occur in the liver. The decay products are excreted in urine and bile. The substance tenoxicam can penetrate the hematoplacental barrier (in pregnant women) and the BBB.
Dosing and administration
The medicine in tablets is taken orally - the standard dosage is 20 mg of the drug daily.
In the acute stage of gout, take 2 tablets of LS with a volume of 20 mg once a day for 2 days, and then switch to daily intake of 1 tablet. You can take Texamen for 1-2 weeks.
To eliminate severe pain, it is necessary to use the medicine in the form of injections. The drug should be administered intramuscularly - 1 bottle, the volume of which is 20 mg, daily. The medicine in ampoules is allowed to be used for a maximum of 5 days.
Use Texamena during pregnancy
Animal tests have not revealed any teratogenic properties. There is no information about the negative impact of the active element of the drug on the fetus.
The medicinal component can be excreted in breast milk, so the drug should not be prescribed to breastfeeding women.
Contraindications
Main contraindications:
- the presence of intolerance to the elements of the drug;
- hypolactasia;
- history of "aspirin triad";
- diabetes mellitus;
- disease in the digestive system (ulcer or gastritis);
- pathologies affecting liver function;
- heart failure;
- primary hypertension;
- coagulation disorders;
- diseases associated with the vestibular apparatus;
- problems with auditory perception;
- use in childhood.
Side effects Texamena
The use of the drug leads to the development of certain side effects:
- disorders associated with the digestive system: bloating, bowel disorders, gastropathy with heartburn, pain in the epigastric region, stomatitis with anorexia, vomiting, erosions and increased ALT or AST values;
- disorders of hematopoiesis and cardiovascular function: increased blood pressure, thrombocytopenia, tachycardia, and agranulocytosis;
- problems affecting the functioning of the nervous system: depression, severe excitability or drowsiness, dizziness and migraine attacks, as well as irritation of the mucous membrane of the eye, tinnitus and changes in visual or auditory perception;
- Others: Bronchospasms, hyperhidrosis, signs of allergy, angioedema, skin itching and increased blood urea nitrogen levels are occasionally observed.
Texamen injections are tolerated quite well, only occasionally causing the development of general side effects.
Overdose
When using the medicine in large doses, a feeling of drowsiness or excitement, vomiting, pain in the epigastrium, and in addition to this, bowel disorder develops. In severe intoxication, convulsions, a feeling of disorientation and bleeding inside the gastrointestinal tract occur.
Texamen has no antidote, so in case of poisoning, symptomatic measures must be taken.
Interactions with other drugs
Corticosteroids, salicylates, and NSAIDs increase the risk of developing ulcers on the stomach walls.
The drug increases the effect of sulfonylurea derivatives, and in addition, indirect anticoagulants. The substance probenecid increases the rate of excretion of tenoxicam from the body.
Texamen reduces the level of SG in the blood.
Drugs with potential nephrotoxicity, serotonin ending antagonists, antiplatelet agents, and diuretic drugs are prohibited from being combined with Texamen.
When combined with antibiotics from the quinolone group, convulsive activity increases.
The medicinal efficacy of the element mifepristone is reduced when combined with the drug.
Storage conditions
Texamen should be kept at temperatures around 25°C.
Shelf life
Texamen can be used for 2 years from the date of release of the drug.
Analogues
Among the structural substitutes of the drug: Tobitol with Tenikam and Tenoctil.
The analogues of the drug are Movalis and Meloxicam.
