Kalanchoe juice is squeezed from fresh leaves of the plant (pinnate Kalanchoe - Kalanchoё pinnata), as well as its upper herbaceous section. Due to their natural origin, preparations based on Kalanchoe juice have an anti-inflammatory effect, help to accelerate the processes of cleansing from necrotic masses and epithelialization of the wound surface, including ulcerative lesions.
Natural components of the drug very rarely cause allergic reactions of the skin or mucous membranes of the body when taking the drug.
Kalanchoe juice is used as an external medicinal product for the sanitation of the lesion, activation of the formation of granulation tissue and restoration of the protective cover.
The spectrum of application of the medicine is quite wide, as its medicinal properties help in many areas of medicine - in surgical, gynecological and dental practice. In particular, in dentistry, Kalanchoe is used to reduce swelling of inflamed tissues, congestion and pain in the gums and teeth. In addition, the drug accelerates the healing process after opening abscesses and other surgical manipulations.
According to the international classification, the drug belongs to a group of medications that are used in dermatology for the treatment of ulcerative lesions and wounds of various origins.
Kalanchoe juice has found wide application in many areas of medicine, which has facilitated the recovery process of patients in dermatological, surgical, dental and many other departments. With its help, the process of cleansing the wound surface from necrotic tissue, pus is accelerated, the intensity of inflammation is reduced, and the restoration of damaged areas of the skin or mucous membrane occurs much faster.
Indications kalanchoe juice
For medicinal purposes, Kalanchoe juice is used as a primary or additional remedy in surgery, dentistry, dermatology and other areas of medicine.
Indications for the use of Kalanchoe juice in surgical practice are the treatment of wounds with purulent masses and damage to the skin that do not heal for a long time, as well as ulcerative lesions of the lower leg as a result of circulatory disorders in the lower extremities (varicose veins).
The drug has proven its effectiveness in the treatment of bedsores, burns, and in combination with other agents is used to prepare the wound site for suturing and skin transplantation.
Indications for the use of Kalanchoe juice in dentistry are gingivitis (acute widespread catarrhal, subacute or chronic hypertrophic catarrhal), inflammatory-dystrophic stages of periodontosis of 2-3 degrees. In addition, Kalanchoe helps with chronic aphthous stomatitis with frequent relapses.
During childbirth, perineal damage may occur, including ruptures that do not heal for a long time and cause discomfort. In this case, the drug helps to speed up healing. In addition, in the postpartum period, when breastfeeding, cracks in the nipples may form, which can also be restored with the help of Kalanchoe juice.
In gynecological practice, the drug is effective for erosive lesions of the cervical mucosa and inflammation of the cervical canal.
Release form
Kalanchoe juice is produced in the form of a transparent liquid, the color of which varies from yellow to orange, slightly opalescent. The consistency is uniform, but sometimes you can see a small suspension, which easily dissolves when shaken. The aroma of the medicine is quite specific, and the taste is bitter-sweet. Excipient - chloroform.
The release form is presented in several configurations. Thus, the juice can be released in ampoules, the volume of which is 3 ml, 5 ml or 10 ml. If the liquid is contained in a bottle, then its bottle can be 20 ml or 100 ml.
There is also an ointment with Kalanchoe juice, which contains 40 g of juice, furazolidone - 250 mg, anhydrous lanolin - 60 g and novocaine - 250 mg. The ointment is available in tubes or jars of 10 g, 20 g and 50 g.
The form of release of the juice determines the content of organic acids in terms of malic acid of at least 1.2%, due to which 1 liter of the medicinal product contains about 996.6 ml of juice of fresh Kalanchoe sprouts.
Due to this form, the medicine is convenient to use for external use in the form of applications, irrigation of the wound surface and application in drops to the affected area.

Pharmacodynamics
Due to the natural origin of the drug, all natural substances included in its composition provide a mild therapeutic effect of the drug.
Kalanchoe juice rarely causes irritation of the skin or mucous membranes, and almost never causes allergic reactions. With the help of flavonoids, tannins, enzymes, organic acids and microelements, the severity of the inflammatory process in the affected area is reduced.
Pharmacodynamics Kalanchoe juice provides stimulation of the regenerative capabilities of the body. By activating the growth and differentiation of tissue cells, a gradual increase in granulations is observed, which fill the tissue defect.
As Kalanchoe is used, restoration of the superficial protective layer of the skin or mucous membranes is observed, which prevents infectious agents from penetrating into the deeper layers.
The healing process is also accelerated by the antiseptic properties of the drug. The inflammatory process is reduced more quickly when purulent masses or necrotic tissues are removed from the affected area.
Pharmacokinetics
The natural composition of the drug implies the presence of such components as flavonoids, tannins in small quantities, trace elements, in particular magnesium, copper, iron and aluminum, as well as enzymes, ascorbic and organic acids.
Kalanchoe juice is extracted from fresh sprouts of the plant. Natural components have an anti-inflammatory effect by reducing the release of inflammation mediators into the lesion from the bloodstream.
Due to the narrowing of the vessels and the reduction of the permeability of their membrane, there is a delay of the liquid part of the blood in the bloodstream without exiting into the tissues. Thus, swelling and, accordingly, pressure on the nerve endings are reduced, which reduces the intensity of the pain syndrome.
Pharmacokinetics Kalanchoe juice in addition to the anti-inflammatory effect has an antiseptic and regenerative effect. The healing process occurs faster, as there is regular cleansing of the wound surface from purulent deposits and necrotic tissues that contribute to the addition of a storied infection.
Dosing and administration
Depending on the medical area of use of the drug, as well as the location of the pathological focus, the method of administration and dosage of the drug should be distinguished.
Thus, in surgical practice, Kalanchoe is used to clean the skin around the lesion (wound or ulcer). To do this, it is necessary to irrigate the surface with a medicinal solution using a syringe and a thin needle.
After washing, it is recommended to cover the top with a 4-5 layer gauze bandage, which can also be moistened with the preparation. At first, when purulent masses and necrotic tissues are present, the bandage should be changed every day.
As the wound surface is cleansed, the dressing can be changed every other day, depending on the treatment dynamics. In order to easily remove the gauze dressing after 24 hours, it must first be moistened with a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution.
In addition to changing the dressing during the day, it is necessary to additionally irrigate the lower layers of gauze 2 times to completely soak the wound with the medicine.
If there is purulent discharge, it is necessary to use Kalanchoe juice for a week, in parallel with which a course of antibacterial therapy should be carried out. Then continue washing for up to 3 weeks.
In obstetric practice, it is recommended that when cracks in the nipples appear, it is necessary to apply 1 drop to each nipple after feeding the baby. The treatment course is 4-5 days. Before applying the baby to the breast, it is necessary to first clean the nipple from the remains of the medicine (if any). In addition, if there are ruptures and wounds in the perineum, Kalanchoe juice should be used in the same way as in surgery.
The method of administration and dosage in dental practice are selected individually, taking into account the severity of the pathological process and the presence of concomitant diseases.
Usually the drug is used in the form of applications by wetting a gauze bandage of several layers with juice. Before using Kalanchoe, it is recommended to sanitize the oral cavity. For application, the medicine should be heated to 37 degrees in a water bath.
Lotions can be applied up to 4 times a day for up to 20 minutes for a week or two. A special effect should be noted with the combined use of Kalanchoe juice and physiotherapy procedures.
Use kalanchoe juice during pregnancy
The process of laying and forming organs in the fetus occurs in the first trimester of pregnancy, then their intensive growth and development is observed. By the end of pregnancy, the fetus's body is formed in such a way that it can independently exist outside the mother and continue its development in the future.
During the entire period of pregnancy, any negative factor, including medications, can have a detrimental effect on the fetus. As a result, failures in the formation of organs and systems are possible, which will clinically manifest themselves as insufficient functioning after childbirth.
The use of Kalanchoe juice during pregnancy is not permitted due to insufficient data on the effect of the drug on the fetus and the course of pregnancy in general. Research on the effect of drugs on the process of bearing a fetus is difficult, since there is a huge risk of developing side effects both in the body of the pregnant woman and in the fetus.
After childbirth, during the period of breastfeeding, a woman can lubricate the nipples with Kalanchoe juice for preventive purposes to avoid the formation of cracks, as well as for treatment - if they are already present. Before applying and the last application of the medicine to the nipple, at least 3-4 hours should pass. In addition, the remains of the medicine should be washed off the nipple, even if it is not visually visible.
Contraindications
Each person has genetically programmed immune responses to certain medications. Some may not have any intolerance to medications at all, while others suffer from allergic reactions after taking certain medications.
Contraindications to the use of Kalanchoe juice imply the presence of individual characteristics of the body, when a person is not suitable for this drug, the introduction of which causes a violent response.
The most common clinical manifestations are dizziness, headache, severe weakness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and shortness of breath.
Considering that Kalanchoe is used for external use, it is worth highlighting the possible occurrence of an allergic reaction from the skin or mucous membranes.
Thus, the area where the drug was applied may turn red, become slightly larger in volume due to swelling, and a burning or tingling sensation may also appear.
Contraindications to the use of Kalanchoe juice also include the use of the drug in childhood and internal use of the drug, which can cause poisoning.
Side effects kalanchoe juice
The body's reaction to the introduction of a drug is its individual tolerance. Side effects of medications can manifest themselves as minor clinical symptoms, or they can cause serious allergic reactions, such as anaphylactic shock or Quincke's edema.
Side effects Kalanchoe juice can cause a burning sensation at the site of application of the drug. If there is no redness or swelling, then next time it will be necessary to pre-dilute the drug with a 1-2% solution of novocaine. The ratio of the components should be 1:1, but provided that there is no allergic reaction to novocaine.
However, if after a single or several uses there is still a tingling or burning sensation, the area becomes more hyperemic and swollen, then you should stop taking the medication and consider using analogues.
Side effects of Kalanchoe juice usually appear very rarely, but if they are noticed, it is necessary to act symptomatically.
Overdose
Based on the rules for using the drug and following the recommendations for dosage and frequency of administration, an overdose of Kalanchoe juice is observed very rarely.
Thus, it is possible that the manifestations of adverse reactions may increase or new clinical symptoms may appear. Overdose may develop after using a large amount of the drug in one application or over several days.
Overdose may manifest itself as symptoms of an allergic reaction. On the skin or mucous membranes where the drug was used, a focus of hyperemia, swelling and even a burning, tingling or itching sensation may appear.
If the dose was so high that a large amount of the medication entered the bloodstream, then the likelihood of developing a general allergic response in the body increases.
Among the clinical manifestations, it is worth highlighting dizziness, headache, weakness, abdominal pain, but the most dangerous is swelling of the upper respiratory tract, which threatens asphyxia.
Interactions with other drugs
Due to the fact that the components and active substances of the juice are not able to penetrate into the bloodstream in such a volume as to have any significant effect, therefore its use in parallel with other systemic drugs is permitted.
Basically, there is a favorable interaction of Kalanchoe juice with other drugs of the antibacterial group, since in most cases it is necessary to take antibiotics to fight the infection not only in the lesion, but also in the bloodstream.
As for locally applied drugs, it is necessary to take into account their interaction with each other. In order to avoid the development of side effects or undesirable symptoms due to their combined use, it is necessary to observe a certain time interval.
It is necessary so that the first applied drug can fully act and remain in a minimum concentration. After that, the next medicine can be used. This interval should be at least 4 hours.
Storage conditions
To preserve the therapeutic properties of the drug, it is necessary to follow certain recommendations for its storage. For this purpose, it is necessary to maintain the optimal temperature, humidity and lighting level.
Thus, the storage conditions of Kalanchoe juice suggest keeping the medicine in a place where the temperature level will not exceed 8 degrees, but will not fall below 2 degrees. Such a temperature regime allows you to keep the structure of Kalanchoe juice in the required location, which will not change its medicinal properties.
In addition, direct sunlight should not be allowed to fall on the medicine, as this also threatens the healing properties of the medicine.
One of the mandatory storage conditions is the inaccessibility of children to Kalanchoe juice. If the medicine is in ampoules, children may get hurt. In addition, they can taste it, which will lead to poisoning.
If the medicine gets on the mucous membranes or skin, and the baby has a tendency to allergies, then an allergic reaction may develop.
Shelf life
The storage conditions of the medicine must be observed throughout the entire shelf life of the medicine. The date of manufacture and last use must be indicated on the outer packaging of the medicine, and, if possible, on each bottle and ampoule.
This is necessary to inform a person about the expiration date during which he can use the medicine. The expiration date implies the preservation of all medicinal properties of the medicine, as indicated in the instructions.
Once the last date for use has expired, the drug is strictly prohibited from being used in any form. The shelf life of Kalanchoe juice is 2 years, after which the drug is not suitable for use.
