Infacol is a medication that contains the active ingredient simethicone.
This component is chemically inert, so it acts only physically; it helps to weaken the surface tension of gas bubbles that form inside the stomach contents and intestinal mucus, resulting in their destruction. Due to this, these bubbles unite, which facilitates the process of removing intestinal gases.
Indications Infacola
It is used in pediatrics - in infants, to eliminate spasms and colic that develop in the area of smooth intestinal muscles due to the accumulation of gas bubbles inside the intestinal lumen.
Release form
The drug is released in the form of an oral suspension, inside glass bottles with a capacity of 50, 75 or 100 ml; in a box - 1 bottle complete with a dispenser.
Dosing and administration
Infacol is taken orally; the suspension does not need to be diluted. The duration of the treatment cycle is selected by the attending physician, individually for each patient.
Newborns are recommended to be prescribed 0.5 ml of suspension. The medicine should be administered before each breastfeeding procedure. With the pediatrician's prescription, the 1-time portion can be increased to 1 ml (equivalent to 40 mg of simethicone).
The medicinal effect reaches its maximum after 2-3 days from the start of taking the drug.
Shelf life
Infacol can be used for a period of 24 months from the date of release of the therapeutic substance.
Application for children
The medication is used in infants under 12 months of age.
Analogues
Analogues of the drug are Disflatil, Espumisan, Bobotik with Colicid, as well as Simethicone and Sab Simplex.
