Pharmacodynamics
An antiviral drug that specifically inhibits influenza viruses of subclasses A and B (this also includes subtypes of the disease with high pathogenicity: A (H1N1) pdm09, and also A (H5N1)). Immustat refers to drugs that slow down fusions, according to the mechanism of their effect on viruses. The drug interacts with viral hemagglutinin, and also prevents the binding of the lipid viral envelope to the cell membranes.
Medicinal efficacy during therapy with influenza - the duration of the disease decreases and the severity of its course is weakened along with the main manifestations. In addition, there is a decrease in the incidence of complications that appear on the background of influenza.
The immunost is a drug with a low toxicity and does not adversely affect the human body if it is taken in standard medicinal dosages.

Pharmacokinetics
The drug undergoes rapid absorption within the gastrointestinal tract, reaching its peak after 1.2 hours after ingestion of 50 mg. When taking a dose of 100 mg, the peak level is observed after 1.5 hours.
The half-life of the drug is approximately 17-21 hours. About 40% of drugs are excreted unchanged together with feces (by 38.9%), as well as with urine (by 0.12%). During the first day, about 90% of the substance is excreted.
Dosing and administration
Tablets are given only to adults - take before meals, orally. The size of a single dose is 200 mg.
As a preventive agent: in case of contact with a person who is sick with the flu, take 200 mg once a day for 10-14 days. During the flu epidemic, you should take 200 mg tablets twice a week for a period of 3 weeks.
With the elimination of influenza: the dosage is 200 mg, which take four times a day (at intervals of 6 hours) for 5 days.
For a day it is allowed to take no more than 800 mg of Immu- statat.
Use of the immunostat during pregnancy
There is not enough information about the safety of taking Immustat during pregnancy or lactation.
Side effects of the immunostat
Taking tablets can cause some side effects:
- immune disorders: manifestations of hypersensitivity, including itching, Quincke's edema, rashes, skin redness and urticaria;
- disorders of the function of the gastrointestinal tract: severity in the epigastric region, as well as heartburn and vomiting.
Storage conditions
The immunostat should be kept in a place that is not accessible to children. The temperature is a maximum of 25 ° C.
