Imupret is a combination drug used to relieve colds and coughs.

Indications Imupreta
It is used to eliminate pathologies in the upper respiratory tract (such as laryngitis or pharyngitis with tonsillitis). In addition, the drug is prescribed to prevent complications or relapses in acute respiratory viral infections due to weakened immunity.

Release form
Released in drops for oral administration, in a 100 ml bottle. Inside the pack is 1 bottle with drops.
Pharmacodynamics
Imupret is made on a plant basis. The components of the drug have a complex effect.
Chamomile and marshmallow polysaccharides provoke non-specific activity of the immune system, increasing phagocytosis of granulocytes with macrophages. These elements also increase the degree of destruction of bacteria inside the cells during phagocytosis - increasing the excretion of active oxygen breakdown products. The medicine also has a bactericidal effect. Essential oils with polysaccharides and flavonoids (marshmallow, chamomile, and yarrow) reduce swelling of the mucous membrane inside the respiratory system during infection. In vitro tests have shown that oak bark, which contains a large amount of tannins, has antiviral properties against the influenza virus.
Horsetail, which is a component of the drug, potentiates the above-mentioned properties due to its preventive and therapeutic effects.
Dosing and administration
In the absence of other indications, the following dosages are recommended:
- infants 1-2 years old: for acute symptoms, take 5 drops 5-6 times a day; after the acute symptoms of the disease have subsided and as a preventive measure, take 5 drops three times a day;
- children 2-5 years old: for acute symptoms - 10 drops 5-6 times a day; to prevent the onset of the disease and in the period after an exacerbation - 10 drops three times a day;
- children aged 6-11 years: for acute symptoms – 15 drops 5-6 times a day; as a preventative measure and after symptoms have subsided – 15 drops three times a day;
- adolescents from 12 years of age and adults: for acute symptoms – 25 drops 5-6 times a day; for prevention and after the end of the exacerbation period – 25 drops three times a day.
The drops should be shaken before use. During instillation, the bottle should be held in an upright position. The medicine is usually taken undiluted. Before swallowing, the drops should be held in the mouth for a while. If necessary, the medicine can be diluted with water. For children, the medicine is added to tea or juice.
Even when the acute symptoms of the disease disappear, it is recommended to continue the treatment course for another 7 days to prevent a possible relapse of the disease.
The medicine is well tolerated, which allows its use for a long time. In the standard treatment of pathologies in the respiratory system of a chronic type (especially tonsillitis), it is taken for at least 1.5 months.
