Indications Immunoflazida

It is used in the following situations:

  • to eliminate acute respiratory viral infections or as a preventative measure against their development;
  • for the prevention or elimination of influenza (this includes pandemic strains);
  • as part of combination treatment in the development of bacterial complications against the background of influenza or other acute respiratory viral infections.

Release form

Released as a syrup, in plastic or glass bottles of 30, 50, 60 or 125 ml. Inside the pack - 1 bottle with syrup complete with a special dispenser.

Pharmacodynamics

Flavonoids contained in the drug can inhibit the replication of viral RNA and DNA both in vitro and in vivo. During preclinical and clinical tests, the inhibitory activity of Immunoflazid against herpes and influenza viruses, as well as ARVI, was noted.

It is known that the direct antiviral effect of the drug is due to the inhibition of enzyme binding processes with specific viral parameters - RNA and DNA polymerases, and in addition, reverse transcriptase with thymidine kinase and neuraminidase. The mechanism of action also includes the induction of internal interferon binding.

The drug helps protect the mucous membranes in the upper respiratory tract by stabilizing local immune parameters (the substances lactoferrin with lysozyme, as well as slgA).

During the tests it was found that Immunoflazid helps to normalize the binding of internal α- and γ-interferons (in physiologically active values), and in addition increases the body's non-specific resistance to infections of bacterial and viral origin.

At the same time, during the tests it was possible to find out that in case of daily use of the syrup taking into account age-related dosages and modes of use, immune refractoriness does not develop: there is no suppression of the processes of binding of α- to γ-interferons. This property of the drug helps to maintain interferon indicators at the level required for the appropriate immune response of the body to infection. This circumstance allows, if necessary, to use the drug in long courses.

The medicine has an antioxidant effect and the ability to slow down free radical processes, which prevents the accumulation of lipid peroxidation products, increasing the cellular antioxidant level. At the same time, it also reduces intoxication and helps restore the body's activity weakened by an infection and adapt it to unfavorable environmental factors.

The drug modulates the process of apoptosis: it potentiates the activity of apoptosis-inducing factors, enhancing the effect of caspase 9. This helps to speed up the process of eliminating cells that have been affected by the virus. At the same time, the drug acts as a means of primary prevention of the development of chronic pathologies against the background of latent infections of viral genesis.

Pharmacokinetics

The active component of the drug is quickly absorbed into the body from the gastrointestinal tract, and its peak level is observed after 20 minutes from the moment of administration (in vivo tests).

After taking the syrup orally, the bioavailability of the substance is 80%.

According to the existing dynamics, the plasma half-life reaches approximately 2.3 hours. The excretion of the substance is quite slow.

The accumulation rate of medicinal components inside blood cells is higher than their level inside plasma. The corresponding values of LS help to extend the period of action of the medicine, as well as its accumulation inside tissues with organs, by releasing blood cells from them. The existing pharmacokinetic values of accumulation and release of active substances from blood cells determine the need for 2-time use of Immunoflazid per day - to obtain medicinally effective concentrations of LS.

Dosing and administration

It is necessary to shake the bottle with the medicine before taking the syrup.

The doses are measured using a dispenser, and the syrup should be consumed before meals – approximately 20-30 minutes.

To achieve a stronger medicinal effect during contact with respiratory type viruses, it is recommended to hold the syrup in the mouth for about 20-30 seconds and also gargle with it before swallowing.

The duration of therapy and dose sizes are calculated taking into account the patient’s age and the nature of the pathology.

Immunoflazid dosage and administration regimens:

  • infants under 1 year: take 0.5 ml of syrup twice a day;
  • children 1-2 years old: take 1 ml of syrup 2 times a day;
  • children 2-4 years old: take 3 ml of syrup twice a day;
  • children 4-6 years old: use 4 ml of medicine 2 times a day;
  • children 6-9 years old: take 5 ml of the drug twice a day;
  • children 9-12 years old: take 6 ml of medicine 2 times a day;
  • Adolescents from 12 years of age and adults: take 9 ml of syrup twice a day.

To eliminate ARVI and flu (if the disease is uncomplicated), it is necessary to drink the syrup for 5 days. To increase the effectiveness of the drug, it is necessary to start taking it immediately after the first signs of the disease appear or immediately after contact with already infected people. Taking into account the course of the pathology, a decision can also be made to extend the course to 14 days.

As a preventative measure against acute respiratory viral infections and influenza, the medicine is taken for a period of 1-4 weeks in a dosage equal to half the standard medicinal dose.

During pandemic epidemics, the duration of taking the syrup for prevention can be increased to 1.5 months.

If the patient has bacterial complications (with flu or other acute respiratory viral infections), the syrup can be taken for 1 month or longer to stabilize immune parameters.

Use Immunoflazida during pregnancy

During preclinical testing, no mutagenic, feto- and embryotoxic, or teratogenic effects on the fetus were detected. No negative effects were detected when using Immunoflazid in the 1st and 3rd trimesters, or during lactation, but it is still recommended to be guided by risk/benefit considerations before deciding to take the drug, and to consult with your doctor.

Contraindications

Main contraindications:

  • intolerance to the components of the drug;
  • aggravated ulcer in the duodenum or stomach;
  • autoimmune pathologies.

Side effects Immunoflazida

Taking the syrup usually does not lead to the development of side effects. Disorders in the gastrointestinal tract were noted sporadically: nausea, epigastric pain, diarrhea, and vomiting (if these symptoms develop, it is necessary to drink the syrup 1.5-2 hours after eating). On the 3rd-10th day of the treatment course, a transient increase in temperature to 38 o C may be observed.

People with chronic gastroduodenitis may develop an exacerbation of this disease, as well as GERD.

Sometimes manifestations of hypersensitivity and signs of allergy (mainly in the form of an erythematous rash) are observed.

Headaches occasionally occur; they go away after changing the dosage and the syrup intake regimen.

If any negative symptoms develop, you should consult your doctor.

Interactions with other drugs

When used medicinally, the possibility of combining the drug with antibiotics, as well as antimycotics, to eliminate pathologies of viral-fungal and viral-bacterial genesis has been established. Negative consequences of the drug's interaction with other medications have not been observed.

Special instructions

Reviews

Immunoflazid receives mixed reviews regarding its effectiveness – some find it very useful, while others see no results from taking the medicine at all. But overall, the positive reviews outweigh the negative ones. Parents note that the syrup helps boost their child’s immunity, and that children enjoy its taste.

The disadvantages include a fairly high cost, as well as frequent cases of allergic reactions to taking the drug. Another inconvenience is that the drug in an already opened bottle can be stored for a maximum of 30 days. But this problem is solved by the possibility of purchasing a smaller bottle.

Shelf life

Immunoflazid is allowed to be used for a period of 2 years from the date of production of the syrup. An opened bottle has a shelf life of maximum 30 days.
