Washing eyes with chamomile
The simplest and at the same time most effective way to relieve redness, inflammation or irritation of the eyes is to wash them with chamomile. For treatment, you can use dry crushed flowers and leaves of the plant or packaged raw materials.
- To relieve irritation, a feeling of burning in the eyes, swelling and redness of the eyelids, take 1-2 teaspoons of dry raw materials. Brew chamomile with a glass of boiling water and let it brew until the infusion reaches room temperature. Strain and use for compresses on the eyes. Apply cotton pads soaked in the solution for 3-5 minutes 1-3 times a day.
- If the eyelids are very swollen after sleep, you can use a compress of chamomile infusion. Take a tablespoon of flowers and pour 250 ml of hot water. After 30 minutes, strain through gauze. Soak cotton swabs in the infusion and apply them to the eyelids. Repeat the procedure several times for 40 minutes.
- In case of severe inflammation of the eyes and swelling of the eyelids, a compress of chamomile is recommended. Take a bag of chamomile and brew it. As soon as the bags are at a comfortable temperature for the body, put them on closed eyelids for 5-10 minutes. Chamomile does not cause side effects. But patients with hay fever should be especially careful when using it, as the plant can cause allergic reactions. With prolonged use of the herb, yellow circles may appear on the eyes, which indicate that the skin has been saturated with chamomile. The coloring disappears on its own within 2-3 days. The therapeutic effect of herbal medicine is noticeable after 2-3 days of regular use of the product.
