Pharmacodynamics
It is believed that gluten from mallow flowers and lanceolate plantain leaves, as well as aucubin, are extremely important in the therapeutic effect of Herbion.
Because the syrup contains the gluten of medicinal extracts, it has an effect in the form of a mucous agent in the case of an irritating dry type cough that develops with inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. The adhesive element creates a thin protective film on the oral and throat mucous membranes, mechanically protecting the mucosal walls from irritants that provoke the cough reflex. As a result, the cough associated with irritation of the respiratory tract mucosa resulting from inflammation provoked by external stimuli is weakened. [2]
C-vitamin is a participant in a large number of metabolic processes within the body. The substance stimulates immune activity and also helps to heal cells.

- renal pathologies of a severe nature.
Side effects Herbion
Among the side symptoms:
- immune disorders: Quincke's edema, signs of intolerance (urticaria, itching or eczema), as well as anaphylaxis. The E218 element can also lead to the appearance of allergy symptoms (sometimes they occur with a delay);
- problems with the work of the NS: headaches;
- disorders of the function of the kidneys and urinary tract: in the case of taking a daily portion of C-vitamin, which is 1000 mg, renal calculi form, oxaluria or damage to the kidney tubules develops;
- blood damage: the use of a daily dosage of 1000 mg of C-vitamin in people with a deficiency of the G6PD element can provoke erythrocyte hemolysis.
In the event of severe negative manifestations, therapy should be canceled.
Overdose
Vitamin C is usually tolerated without complications. It is a water-soluble substance, and its excess is excreted in the urine. Intoxication can provoke a change in renal excretion of uric acid and C-vitamin during urine acetylation, which also leads to the risk of oxalate calculi. The use of high portions of C-vitamin can cause heartburn, nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea and vomiting, which disappear after drug withdrawal.
Symptomatic actions are performed.
A significant excess of the recommended portions (more than 1000 mg of C-vitamin per day) can lead to sleep disorders, fatigue, kidney failure, disorders of copper and zinc metabolism, and in addition to severe excitability, fever, neutrophilia or erythrocytopenia.
Long-term intake of large doses of vitamin C can suppress the work of the insular system of the pancreas, which requires monitoring its function. In addition, in the case of consuming large portions of ascorbic acid, it is necessary to monitor the values of blood pressure, because it stimulates the formation of hormones of the corticosteroid type.
Symptomatic measures are taken.
Interactions with other drugs
The introduction of C-vitamin with aluminum-containing antacids can lead to an increase in Al excretion along with urine. This combination should not be used, especially for people with a history of renal disease.
Fe absorption is enhanced by the introduction of C-vitamin.
The use in combination with deferoxamine leads to the excretion of iron. Large doses of C-vitamin in people who use deferoxamine can lead to heart problems (for example, CHF or cardiomyopathy). With such a combination, the daily dosage of vitamin C should be a maximum of 0.2 g, and in addition, cardiac activity should be closely monitored. It is forbidden to prescribe vitamin C to persons with HF who are taking deferoxamine. Also, you can not enter ascorbic acid during the 1st month of deferoxamine therapy.
The use of C-vitamin in a 1000 mg serving slows the disulfiram-ethanol reaction in people with alcoholism who take disulfiram.
The use of the vitamin causes a weakening of the absorption of amphetamine due to the effect on the gastric pH values.
The systemic clearance of ethanol is increased when combined with ascorbic acid.
Large doses of the vitamin lead to a disorder in the renal excretion of mexiletine (because the urinary pH value changes). It is necessary to carefully monitor persons who combine mexiletine with large portions of ascorbic acid.
