Pharmacodynamics

The active substance of the drug is dimethicone, which is known for its presence in a large number of external medicinal and cosmetic products. This substance already in a 4% solution poses a serious threat to the vital activity of lice. However, to destroy nits, a slightly higher concentration is required, therefore, to completely destroy parasites, two applications of the drug are usually used with a weekly interval.

Hedring does not contain substances with neurotoxic action, so this drug is not aimed at suppressing the specific enzymatic activity of lice. The liquid affects parasites by a physiological method: the lotion envelops the insect, disrupting the water balance in its body. As a result, lice affected by the lotion stop removing excess fluid from their body.

Even those insects that are resistant to other insecticides are susceptible to Hedring's action.
