Hyalgan is a corrector of metabolic processes inside cartilage and bone tissue. Its use can relieve pain and reduce inflammation. Improvement of the condition is observed in patients for another 6 months after treatment.

The drug contains the Na salt of hyaluronic acid, the molecular weight of this molecule inside the drug is 500-730 kDa. The substance of the active element is a substance with a high level of purification. The medicinal liquid is sterile and pyrogen-free. [1]

Indications Gialgan

It is used for such disorders:

  • osteoarthritis ;
  • articular changes associated with previous injuries;
  • the need to eliminate pain in case of joint lesions ;
  • the need to improve joint mobility;
  • the need for the use of auxiliary orthopedic substances.

Release form

The release is realized in the form of a liquid ready for injection, inside 2 ml vials, 5 pieces inside a pack. The kit also contains 5 syringes with a volume of 2 ml, equipped with protective caps and needles.

Pharmacodynamics

Hyaluronan allows you to compensate for the lack of synovia, the matrix of the joint apparatus. Thanks to the stabilization of the volume of hyaluronic acid in the area of the internal space, the viscosity of the synovium is normalized and its elasticity is potentiated.

Hyaluronan helps to bind proteoglycan molecules within cartilage tissues. It is imperative to help the passage of exogenous hyaluronan in order to replenish the deficiency of internal molecules during osteoarthritis, when a significant deficiency of this element is noted and the qualitative composition of the synovial cerebrospinal fluid changes. [2]

The introduction of Hyalgan into the joint allows a high rate of bioavailability to be obtained. With regular use of drugs, the functional activity of the cartilage improves.

Pharmacokinetics

Hyaluronan effectively participates in metabolic processes, is rapidly destroyed inside the liver, and is also rapidly excreted from the circulatory system. Metabolic components are mainly excreted in the urine.

Approximately 42% of the administered portion is noted inside the liver after 24 hours from the moment of injection. The medication is registered within 2 hours inside the synovium, and within 6 hours - inside the cartilage of the joint. Cartilage is the most common site for hyaluronan localization. This element remains within the synovium for a period of 4-5 days.

Dosing and administration

It is necessary to inject the medicine into the joints - for example, in the pelvic or knee area. Dosage size - 1 bottle of medicine or 1 syringe. You need to carry out the procedure 1 time per week. The entire treatment cycle includes 5 injections.

Before injection, effusion is removed from the cavity of the intra-articular bursa. Next, the anatomical structure of the patient is assessed. This is followed by needle insertion and some aspiration of the synovium. The medicine should be administered at a very low speed, according to the standard instructions.

A single needle can be used to eliminate effusion and inject. In this case, you need to insert the needle, remove the liquid through the syringe, and then install the syringe with the medicine and inject it into the joint. If the patient develops pain, the injection is stopped. It is impossible for air to enter the joint cavity, needle and syringe. You can not store a medicinal substance that was not used for injection.

  • Application for children

It is forbidden to use the medication in pediatrics.

Use Gialgan during pregnancy

There is no reliable information on the safety of using drugs during pregnancy, so it is not prescribed during the specified period.

Contraindications

Among the contraindications:

  • severe intolerance to hyaluronan, bird protein or additive elements of the drug;
  • severe forms of liver disease;
  • infections located in the area of the injection;
  • epidermal lesions in the injection area.

Side effects Gialgan

Adverse symptoms rarely develop. Among them:

  • transient painful sensations;
  • local edema;
  • anaphylaxis;
  • itching;
  • hives;
  • an increase in the volume of exudate in the cavity inside the joints;
  • rashes;
  • hyperthermia in the injection area;
  • local hyperemia associated with the injection.

It is necessary to relieve the affected joint; with the development of manifestations that are not associated with signs of allergy, ice is applied to it.

Interactions with other drugs

Intra-articular injections cannot be performed in combination with other medications, since there is too little information regarding the interaction of substances with hyaluronan and other medications.

It is forbidden to use preparations containing 4-tary ammonium salts before and after the Hyalgan injection procedure, because they are capable of destroying the structure of hyaluronan.

Storage conditions

Gialgan should be stored at temperatures not exceeding 25 ° C. It is forbidden to freeze the medicine.

Shelf life

Hyalgan can be used for a 3-year term from the date of manufacture of the drug.

Analogs

The analogues of the drug are Nimika, Rinzasip with Metamizole, Gumisol and Solpadein with Mirlox, and besides this Ibuklin, Dolak, Rapten with Nizilat and Piralgin. In addition, the list includes Benalgin, Rinikold, Mig, Kofitsil with Biopin, Larifix and Maxigan.
