Gevkamen is a local medicine used to treat pain in the muscles and joints.
Indications Gevkamena
It is used for symptomatic therapy of myalgia with neuralgia, and also for rheumatism and arthritis with sciatica.
Release form
Available in ointment form, in jars of 15 or 25 g, or in tubes of similar volume (15 and 25 g).
Pharmacodynamics
As a result of external treatment with the ointment, irritation of the nerve receptors on the skin occurs. The medicine has local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory, distracting and antimicrobial properties, helping to remove pain or inflammation developing in the muscles and joints.
Dosing and administration
The ointment is applied externally by rubbing it on the skin. Rub 2-3 g of the medicine into the affected area of the skin, as well as the adjacent part (until completely absorbed). The procedure should be performed 2-3 times a day.
The frequency of application, as well as the duration of therapy, are determined by the attending physician - they depend on the nature of the pathology and its severity, and in addition on the effectiveness of the drug and the nature of the basic therapy used.

Use Gevkamena during pregnancy
Only a doctor can prescribe medication to pregnant or breastfeeding women, and only in cases where the possible benefit to the woman is more likely than the occurrence of negative reactions in the fetus or infant.
Contraindications
Among the contraindications:
- intolerance to the components of the drug;
- presence of wounds in the treatment area;
- whooping cough, dermatitis, and eczema;
- tendency to develop convulsions or bronchial spasms;
- children under 12 years of age.
Side effects Gevkamena
The use of the ointment may cause side effects in the form of allergic reactions, including rashes, reddening of the skin, urticaria, itching and contact dermatitis, as well as dizziness with headaches. Convulsions may also occur (due to camphor), and children may develop dermatitis.
Overdose
In case of overdose, there is a burning sensation and strong warming in the treatment area, or an increase in the symptoms of side effects is observed. In case of hypersensitivity to the drug, allergic reactions occur - itching and urticaria.
Symptomatic therapy is used to eliminate disorders.
Storage conditions
The ointment must be stored in standard conditions and out of reach of children. Temperature indicators – no more than 25°C.

Shelf life
Gevkamen is permitted to be used for a period of 3 years from the date of manufacture of the drug.
