Gepon is an immunostimulating medication. It helps to stimulate the production of interferons, and with it the activity of macrophages. It also inhibits the production of cytokines and viral replication in HIV, herpes simplex and hepatitis type C. Increases the body's resistance to infections of bacterial and viral genesis.

The medicine has become widely used in recent years. It is included in combination therapy for severe (with regular relapses) pathologies provoked by the action of herpes simplex virus, papillomavirus, mycoplasma with chlamydia, and candida fungi. [1]

Indications Gepon

It is used for such violations:

Release form

The release of the medication is made in the form of a liquid for oral administration or external treatment - 0.02% and 0.1%. The kit also includes a syringe.

It is also realized in the form of a lyophilisate for the manufacture of solutions - inside bottles with a capacity of 1, 2 or 10 mg. The kit contains a drip tip or a spray bottle, and also a solvent.

Pharmacodynamics

In people with HIV infection, the drug decreases blood viral concentrations and stimulates the activation of immune actions. In patients, the production of antibodies against HIV antigens and substances that provoke the development of opportunistic infections is potentiated. The clinical manifestation of this effect is the absence of recurrence of infection in a 4-6 month period.

When processed locally, it demonstrates anti-inflammatory activity. Already after 2 days of use, a weakening of swelling and soreness of the epidermis with mucous membranes, as well as hyperemia, is observed.

Dosing and administration

The medicine is used locally or orally. When using a powder, it must be dissolved beforehand.

With immunodeficiency, an adult needs to orally consume 10 mg of the substance 1 time per day for a period of 1-3 months.

With ordinary herpesvirus, 2 mg of the substance is taken orally (it must be dissolved in 5 ml of water). This liquid should be kept in the mouth for 5 minutes and then swallowed. The medication should be consumed within 3-5 days. Local application - use in the form of a cream, which is made independently: mix 2 mg of dissolved drug liquid with 10 g of ordinary baby cream. You can also locally treat the epidermis and mucous membranes using a 0.04% solution (once a day).

In the case of candidiasis in the area of mucous membranes and epidermis, 3 irrigations are performed with 2-3-day breaks.

During the treatment of balanoposthitis or urethritis, the medicine is instilled into the urethra 3 times, at 2-3-day intervals.

To prevent the development of candidiasis in the area of mucous membranes, they are irrigated in conjunction with antibiotic treatment.

In the case of cervicitis or vulvovaginitis, the mucous membranes of the genitals are irrigated or lotions are applied to the infected areas. The frequency of use is the same as above.

When treating acute respiratory viral infections, you need to dissolve 2 mg of Gepon in 2 ml of water, after which 5 drops of this liquid should be instilled into the nostrils, 2 times a day for a 5-day period.

To prevent respiratory diseases, one drop of liquid should be instilled into the nose (made at the rate of 2 mg of drugs per 2 ml of plain water), 3 times a day in a 1-month period.

With intestinal dysbiosis, microclysters are performed, which contain 2 mg of the drug per 30-40 ml of the added saline solution. The cycle includes 5 procedures that are performed every other day.

Reviews

Gepon has received many good reviews from different patients. Basically, there are comments regarding its use in the case of vulvovaginitis or candidal vaginitis - an improvement in the condition was observed after 3 irrigation procedures.

In the case of epidermal erysipelas, developing with regular relapses, a positive effect was also observed - the frequency of recurrences decreased and the rate of recovery increased.

There are also reviews regarding the application of medications to the affected areas after removal of the papillomavirus - the drug effect provided a decrease in the number of relapses.

In addition, Gepon is also used in pediatrics. It was prescribed for oral administration and irrigation of the throat for persistent herpesvirus infection. Together with this, the medication was part of the combined therapy of intestinal infections in a child with adeno- and rotavirus genesis.

In the case of chronic pharyngitis or rhinosinusitis, irrigation in the pharyngeal region and spraying of drugs inside the nostrils were performed. To improve the condition, 3 irrigations were enough.

When using the drug in children with BA, there was a decrease in the frequency of exacerbations of the underlying pathology and the incidence of various ARVIs.
