Finalgel contains the element piroxicam, which is included in the category of NSAIDs and is its active component. Among the properties of the substance are anti-inflammatory and analgesic.

The principle of therapeutic effect is based on the inhibition of PG binding processes, which occurs due to the slowdown in the activity of COX-1 and COX-2. The drug does not overdry the epidermis. After external treatment, there is a decrease in the intensity of pain of muscular and joint origin, a weakening of inflammation and edema.

Indications FINALGEL

It is used to eliminate pain that occurs with the following disorders:

  • osteoarthritis;
  • injuries associated with sports injuries (sprains, ligament damage, bruises of varying degrees of intensity and dislocations);
  • tendonitis;
  • rheumatoid arthritis;
  • scapulohumeral syndrome;
  • Bechterew's disease;
  • juvenile arthritis that has a chronic form;
  • tendovaginitis.

Release form

The substance is released in the form of a gel, inside tubes with a capacity of 35 or 50 g. There is 1 such tube in a box.

Dosing and administration

The gel is used for external treatments - 1 g of the substance is applied to the infected area. The procedure should be carried out up to 4 times a day, lightly rubbing the gel into the epidermis.

Anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving treatment continues depending on the severity of symptoms and lasts on average 7-14 days in case of sports injuries and 14-21 days in case of ligament damage, scapulohumeral syndrome, tendovaginitis or tendinitis.

Use FINALGEL during pregnancy

Only if there is an urgent need and with extreme caution, Finalgel is used in the 1st and 2nd trimesters. The gel cannot be used in the 3rd trimester.

A small portion of piroxicam is excreted in breast milk, which is why breastfeeding is not recommended when using the drug.

Contraindications

Main contraindications:

  • severe intolerance associated with aspirin, NSAIDs and piroxicam;
  • kidney diseases.

Caution is required when using in the following cases:

  • chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases;
  • chronic infections associated with the respiratory system;
  • rhinitis of allergic origin;
  • BA;
  • recurrent nasal polyposis.

Side effects FINALGEL

Side effects include redness, hives, itching and flaking of the skin, inflammation and allergy symptoms.

Overdose

In case of poisoning, general signs of the disorder appear: nausea, dyspnea, pain in the epigastric region, and in addition, pain similar to migraine, and tubulointerstitial nephritis, accompanied by renal failure and nephrotic syndrome.

If these symptoms appear, therapy is immediately discontinued, after which symptomatic procedures are carried out.

Storage conditions

Finalgel must be kept at temperatures no higher than 25°C.

Shelf life

Finalgel can be used within a 5-year period from the date of sale of the medicinal product. An opened tube has a six-month shelf life.

It is prohibited to use the gel in pediatrics (under 14 years of age).
