The active ingredient of this medicine is produced from the rhizomes of turmeric (fenipentol) and has the ability

Activate:

  • the process of bile secretion and the concentration of bile acids in it,
  • transformation of inactive pancreatic prolipases into active enzymes that catalyze the processes of lipid cleavage previously emulsified by hepatic bile.

In addition, the drug stimulates the production of gastric mucus.

Indications of the febihola

The drug is used for the following chronic secretory disorders of the digestive organs:

  • violation of the exocrine function of the liver and pancreas;
  • dysfunction of the biliary tract and its anomalies, accompanied by congestion of bile;
  • cholecystitis, cholangitis and their combined form;
  • postcholecystectomy syndrome;
  • motorotonic dysfunction of the gallbladder, ducts and sphincters;
  • hypoacid gastritis;
  • dyspeptic manifestations.

Release form

Capsules containing 100mg of phenypentol, and also - auxiliary substances: 85% glycerin, dietary supplement - chlorophyllin (eucalyptus leaf extract, fructose, ascorbic acid), preservative and antiseptic - methylparaben, gelatin.

Pharmacodynamics

The active ingredient Febichola has a choleretic effect, while increasing the concentration of dense components - cholesterol and bile acids, which, in turn, increase the enzymatic activity of pancreatic lipase. This contributes to the normalization of the cleavage and assimilation of fats, ingested with food into the digestive canal. The action of the drug occurs by raising the level of the peptide hormone secretin in the blood. This increases the production and volume of pancreatic (pancreatic) juice, the content of bicarbonates and active lipases in it.

In addition, phenylpentol binds free radicals in liver tissues, which blocks the process of oxidative degradation of lipids and protects hepatocytes from damage.

The active ingredient activates the work of the gastric glands, increasing the production of gastric mucus (mucin), enveloping and protecting the mucous membrane of the stomach.

He also exhibits moderate prophylactic activity against the formation of gallstones and ducts, reducing the absolute quantitative measure of the cholesterol content in bile.

Pharmacokinetics

The maximum effect from the action of phenylpentol is reached after a quarter of an hour after administration. The main part of the drug is broken down by the liver and enters the portal circle of blood circulation. In cells of tissues, it concentrates slightly. With urine in the form of a metabolite, up to 35% of the active ingredient is excreted, in the same way - less than 1% in unchanged form.

Dosing and administration

The drug is dosed on two capsules, the frequency of reception is prescribed by the doctor. It varies from a single dose of two capsules at once to three doses per day of the same single dose. Capsules are swallowed whole and washed down with a glass of water to prevent their adherence in the esophagus. The standard duration of treatment is three weeks.
